4 day stay in September

Pros: the host was very communicative, check in was easy, the location was great - very close to the beach and a 15 minute walk into Marzamemi. All the rooms had air conditioning and the terrace was lovely. Cons: the house seemed quite run down, for example the sink was broken in one of the bathrooms, the shower head couldn’t be held up by the holder, and the oven didn’t seem to work (though there was a toaster oven we could use instead). The shower drain was completely clogged with hair when we arrived and wouldn’t drain. It wasn’t even one stay’s worth of hair - it was a LOT of hair. The house was missing some basics: there was no hand soap, there was only one roll of toilet paper in one of the toilets - not the other, and there was no tea towel for drying dishes. We also didn’t realise when we booked that there would be an additional cleaning fee, city tax and linen fee on top of what we already paid, which we had to pay in person in cash. Looking again at the listing, apart from the city tax this isn’t made clear until after booking.
