This resort is huge and beautiful. The staff is great and restaurant options were very good. The only thing I was disappointed with was the beach was dirty and there were boats everywhere. Really making it an eye sore.

The room was very spacious but swimming pool wasn’t clean as we found dead bird, leaves all over the pool. So had to use other side of the pool which was overcrowded as it’s a bit small for the amount of people.

We enjoyed the Buffet breakfast and beach bar. We enjoyed spending time at the beach club. We liked the room and its overall size and design. Our tv had very poor reception and was difficult to operate and access the stations. During a degustation Indonesian dinner we were given an Arak cocktail. Both my partner and I felt sick very shortly after having a few sips of the cocktail so we did not contiue drinking it. My partner very quickly started to feel very unwell and we left to return to our room befor eth eend of the meal. My partner became violently sick and nautious, vomitting throughout the night, resulting in a doctor and nursaes called to the room to provide IV antibiotics and other treatments. The doctor said we probably had a bad reaction to Arak as we had never had it before and our systems could not tolerate it at even the smallest amount. Our last day at the hotel was not so good as my partner still felt drained, tired and a little unwell. Unfortunately, it meant that our final 24 hours at the hotel was a very challenging time. We do not feel that the hotel should provide Arak to people eho have never had it before as they may have a similar reaction to the two of us.

Unfortunately, our stay at Sakala was a disappointment, so much so that we decided to leave early without a refund of any sort to salvage our vacation. First of all, there was construction happening next to the resort which Expedia nor the resort told us anything about. Every day between 7:30-8am they would start with hammer drills and that would go on all day. As someone who works remotely and was partially working on my vacation, I was sleeping late at night and was getting woken up every morning from the noise. The noise was quite simply unbearable, even if I was not sleeping, you go to a place like Bali for the peace and quiet, not for a property demolition going on and waking up to that noise every day. Our room was infested with aunts when we checked in. We informed the property but they told us that they don't have any other room available. Then they started spraying very strong pesticides while we were still present in the property but even that did not take care of the aunt infestation completely. The property is literally falling apart. I am sure this was a great property once but it has been run down and not very well maintained. Door handles were falling off, shower pressure was non-existent, internet speed was barely between 2-3 Mbps and it was disconnecting frequently. For the staff, some were lovely and some absolutely rude and inconsiderate, not caring about the DND sign either. Expedia support, 0 stars. No help and no follow up for days.

This hotel was very pretty. Staff was great. Spa (when they got you in) was amazing. The pool area was well put together, but easy to get lost in. The beach club across the street has another pool with pool bar and a restaurant. There's security to assist in crossing the street which was nice.

My stay at The Sakala Resort was simply incredible — a true 100/10 experience. From the moment I checked in, the staff went above and beyond to make everything perfect. The team at reception was warm and welcoming, and I have to give a special shoutout to the lovely lady at breakfast (I forgot her name!) who makes the omelettes — she was an absolute gem. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and extremely comfortable. The resort itself is packed with fantastic facilities that made the stay even more enjoyable. I will absolutely be coming back, and I’ll be recommending The Sakala Resort to all my friends and family. Thank you for such a memorable stay!

We had the best holiday at Sakala the resort was amazing as were the staff. Nothing was to hard a request for experience manager Demmy. I also had two lovely spa treatments which were lush

The location and vicinity to beach was awesome. However we found glass in morning breakfast and also got food poisoning from it. When complained about it they just nodded along and definitely took precautions. but didnt refund even our breakfast fees or provide any other complimentary service.
