The space
This is the main house, accessed from the street by a level walkway plus two small steps at the entry. Inside, the home is all on one level.
Several rooms enjoy a view of San Francisco and the Bay. The front bedroom overlooks a lovely garden with a fountain, birds, and greenery.From the deck, kitchen, dining room, and living room, the panorama includes includes Mt. Tamalpais, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Bay Bridge, the Port of Oakland, the Oakland skyline, the San Francisco skyline, Alameda, the Bay's estuaries, and the western hills beyond.
The living room features a comfortable sofa, attractive furnishings, and a Regency gas fireplace for cool evenings.
A flat-screen TV is in the living room, and a flat-screen tv is in each bedroom with DirecTV Premiuim channels.

Deck and outdoor setting
The large deck extends across the entire back of the home, offering comfortable seating, a dining area, and a grill. One end of the deck is accessed from the primary bedroom. The other end is accessed from the kitchen and features a tall bistro-style table with cushioned chairs for outdoor meals or morning coffee.
The deck also overlooks a lush garden with mature trees, seasonal blooms, and frequent visits from birds, squirrels, and hummingbirds.
Kitchen
The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware, utensils, place settings, and basic condiments. Appliances include a vintage Wedgewood stove, microwave, toaster, blender, and Cuisinart drip coffee maker; filters are provided.
Please note: there is no dishwasher. We preserved the charm of the original 1949 kitchen,
Laundry
Guests have access to a full-size LG washer and dryer, with detergent and softener provided.
Parking
Unmetered street parking is generally plentiful, and guests are usually able to park in front of the home.
Accessibility
This home works well for guests who prefer to avoid long stair climbs, common to Oakland hill homes. Although the home is elevated, entry is from street level via a level walkway and two small steps. The interior is all on one level. The bathroom has a tub/shower combination with a 36-inch grab bar and an assist bar at the tub entry.
The home is not wheelchair accessible and is not suitable for guests who rely on mobility devices such as walkers or rollators. Please inquire if you would like clarification about access.

The location offers quick access to I-580 making it easy to explore Oakland, Berkeley, San Francisco, Napa Valley, Sonoma, Muir Woods, Route 1, Pacifica, Half Moon Bay, Santa Cruz, and more.
San Francisco is about a 28-minute drive in light traffic. Many guests also enjoy taking the scenic ferry from the Jack London Square ferry terminal to the San Francisco Ferry Building or Fisherman’s Wharf.
Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park is a 13 minute mile drive —a local gem for hiking, walking, running, and biking.
