The decor was nice, and I appreciated that they provide real mugs rather than paper ones. However, I would not return to this hotel, as the sound insulation between floors is essentially non-existent. After a long trip, I was hoping to get some sleep, but I was woken up around 6 a.m. by guests upstairs. They weren’t doing anything unusually noisy; normal footsteps came through as loud thumps due to the building’s construction.

Over all a nice stay. Clean rooms, very polite and generous staff. Great location next to the north Berkeley station. The roof top hang out spot with seating and fire pits was a good time. Only downside to the single king room is that it was the smallest and most cramped room I think I've ever stayed in. Barely enough room for our stuff. Besides that it was a pleasant experience.
