Bathroom was old. Sink was smallest Ive ever seen in a hotel. This hotel Should be half the price charged. After paying on Expedia for 2 nights, I was then charged a surprise destination fees and additional charges that could not be explained by the front desk. The front desk said to wait a couple of weeks to see if the charges go away. That’s the explanation.

Loved the historical architecture and fun design of the place. It smells like it hasn't been adequately dusted or the carpet cleaned. Soundproofing in the bathrooms was nonexistent. I think the HVAC duct was vented to the bathroom next door. I could hear the guy next door blowing his nose and singing! Possible code issue? Wall A/C is very noisy. Motion-sensor lighting for just a few hall lights is bizarre. Otherwise it's great!

This is a terrible property that Hilton should be ashamed to be associated with. Dirty, unfriendly staff, terrible amenities. Worst hotel I’ve stayed at in 15 years and I travel extensively.

expected more for price

old hotel with unacceptable renovations. ( Now owned by Hilton) bathtub was old , no safety bars and unclean ( shower curtain liner and tiles had mold) bedrooms were not even close to soundproof. could hear everything in next room, hallways and upstairs. Serve yourself for any drinks ice etc

Great hotel and location. Only two issues: 1. the sink is very small. It would help to have more surface near it to place my bathroom accessories. 2. very thin walls and floors. one evening i could hear strong footsteps above me, but they stopped. One night I could hear an alarm that went off for hours -- the room must have been empty. On the plus side: 3. It was nice to be able to use the $25 resort fee on food at the very good restaurant!

Unique artsy hotel

Funky hotel with great artwork, comfortable bed and yummy restaurant. Great service at the front desk. The person inline in front of me was having some kind of issues and didn’t want to discuss it infront of other people. The young lady behind the desk immediately recognized she needed privacy and invited the guest to come around to the side to speak to her privately. It was seamless and classy and so well done.

Close to UC Berkeley. Old hotel. Excellent staff

Older hotel with excellent staff. Next to Unit 1 Residence Hall and convenient to UC Berkeley which were my main reasons for staying here. Elevators are a little slow. Had a room with 2 double beds which was fine. Bathroom was small, without a ventilation fan so heat and moisture remain trapped in the room. Fixed shower head was difficult to move, no shower wand, and pressure was low. Parking is pricey but convenient. Nice lobby for hanging out or waiting for others but a lot of students use it for studying. Limited dining options onsite but plenty within walking distance. Staff were helpful, and accommodating. Good place for a short trip if you need to be very close to UC Berkeley.
