The room was in poor condition — stained carpets, greasy marks on the bed frames and glass windows, a torn window screen, and peeling paint on the bathroom door. Not even water cups in the room.
Breakfast was equally disappointing. When I arrived at 8:15 AM, staff informed me they were out of coffee and would not make more. There was no milk either.
Perhaps we were given an inferior room (ours faced a busy avenue rather than the quieter neighborhood behind the hotel). Perhaps the staff member I encountered was simply having a bad day, or the person at check-in took issue with me traveling with a child. We paid more than $700 for two nights. Whatever the reason, the entire stay felt deeply overpriced and unwelcoming.
