Excellent property , friendly staff , location and rooms. The property lacks any type of restaurant service, except for coffee in the morning. However, plenty of excellent restaurants within a 5 min walk. we look forward to returning.

The location is perfect -right around corner from the central plaza( Zocolo). Very convenient especially if you do not have a car. Very safe area even at night. Rooms were large with fridge /micro etc. Rooms were very clean - and housekeeping cleaned daily. Beds comfortable, AC worked great. The staff at desk was very helpful. Really no complaints- would definitely stay here again.

Friendly Staff and Great Location

We had a great 8-night stay at Casa Quiote. The staff is friendly and helpful. They gave us great restaurant recommendations, arranged for someone to drive us to Monte Alban and other attractions, and scheduled transportation to the airport. The hotel is in a great location - close to museums, sites, and restaurants.

Beautiful place to stay! We were there for a couple of days and it was very accesible to everything around us. So many places to eat around the hotel. Everyday our room was very clean I appreciated the help from the front desk when we needed it. I would 10/10 recommend this place and would stay again!

The staff and location are amazing! They were very helpful calling taxis and giving recommendations for dining! Only slight negatives ( personal preference) I wish the beds were a little softer and pillows were better. Also wish there was a tad more privacy in the bathrooms.

We were excited for our trip to Oaxaca and wanted to like this hotel, but unfortunately it didn’t meet our expectations and we ended up leaving a day early. The hotel is well located and recently renovated. However, the design of the building (an old colonial house) means there is little natural light in the bedroom unless you upgrade to the suite. The rooms are small and very basic with only harsh ceiling lighting. It honestly felt like a hospital ward and not the vibe we expected from the pictures. It’s not an inviting space to spend time out of the hot sun, and the hotels public spaces are also very basic. The walls are very thin and not insulated so we were kept up every night by the noise of other residents and a club across the road - it was really impossible to sleep. The open “window” in the toilet area only made this worse. We know Oaxaca is a touristy city and prices are higher, but this room really isn’t worth the money. Look elsewhere (and pay more) or manage your expectations.

We had high expectations for Casa Quiote. As an adults-only hotel with strong reviews and a higher price point, we expected comfort, safety, and quiet. We booked the largest room at the back, assuming we would be well positioned for a peaceful stay. The room itself was spacious but very basic and not particularly inviting. There was a refrigerator and the bathroom was good, with a large shower. On the surface, everything seemed fine. However, the first night when we tried to sleep, chaos started. Several guests, apparently drunk or under the influence, were loudly dragging outdoor furniture around for hours. At first, we were genuinely alarmed — the gate closes at night, so you don’t expect that level of noise. We even feared it could be intruders. We reported it, but nothing changed. We did not sleep at all and felt unsafe. The next night, despite speaking to management, the exact same disturbance happened again. The night manager was present but did nothing. At 2 a.m., we were moved to a smaller, less expensive room where the noise was still audible, plus more street noise — without any compensation. The issue was never properly addressed. For a hotel in this price range, this is unacceptable. You pay a premium and get sleepless nights and an unsafe feeling. We strongly do not recommend staying here.
