The staff was helpful and nice to talk to. We loved having the breakfast and coffee options right down our room. The bar is also a great option. Very walkable to the andador and the other great sites within 5 minutes walk. Sabina Sabe is just a few steps away as well as other restaurant options. The place is clean and well kept. The only downside is the beds are super hard, and for a person who is used to a Tempurpedic bed, this was like sleeping on the floor. If you don’t mind a hard bed, this is a great option, because it’s on a perfect location, great price, with a restaurant and bar on site.
We loved this hotel! It has such a cute and authentic feel. The staff were incredibly lovely and accommodating. The rooms are spacious with cold AC, and the location is very walkable with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. One night, the club next door was a bit loud, but they provide earplugs (which we didn’t end up needing). Parking is limited in the area, but you really don’t need a car in this location. There’s also a nice coworking space. We would definitely stay here again and were very happy with our stay.
This hostal is one of the best-kept "secrets" in Oaxaca. Apart from being located perfectly in between the historic Santo Domingo Church and the Zocalo, the staff was super friendly. There's also a popular coffee shop connected directly to the hostal.
I booked the compact room and didn’t realize just how small it would be, with a shared bathroom. Personally, I wouldn’t choose that room again due to the size and the shared bathroom. However, aside from that, my stay was very good the place felt safe and the staff were friendly.
I just stayed here as a solo female traveler and I can’t recommend it enough! Perfect location, great hostel and friendly/helpful staff. Cannot wait to stay here again!
We had a great stay at Selina Oaxaca. Cokowking was perfect until Thursday when Wifi wouldn't properly work.
The terrace was closed due to construction. We would have loved to be advised before realizing it.
Otherwise, would recommend :)

The room was clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. It was convenient to be able to get breakfast at the adjoining bar/ restaurant. Things were lively and noisy till 10 p.m., then very quiet all night. Close to SO many neutral and fun things to do and see! I would definitely stay there again.
My stay at Selina was great. I was looking for something affordable and decent, but also accessible to the centro. The rooms were decent, and always clean. I would definitely book them again next time I visit Oaxaca.
Very central, rooms are huge, modern space with shared kitchen and coworking space. It s a very loud courtyard and the bar plays music loud. Things get quiet after 11pm so just don’t expect quiet before that.
Breakfast is great!
As an older guy I was surprised that the room I was assigned was “co-ed”. Roomies are all super respectful of each others privacy! No issues at all. I really like this place. Near Centro and lots of other shopping opportunities. Would recommend to all!
It was very nice place, sociable, great front desk staff, close to Zocalo and the restaurants. Close to Mercado Vente de Noviembre. I spent 4 good and relaxing nights there. I recommend this place if you want to get a not expensive hotel and where everything is near by.
Right in the middle of town, which is nice! But very loud with no insulation and old windows. Nice for a night or two, but sleeping was disturbed.
Excellent breakfast and coffee!
We had an incredible stay at Selina in Oaxaca! The room was comfortable, and the atmosphere and views from the roof were lovely. The central location made exploring the city a breeze. David at the reception was friendly and incredibly helpful, providing fantastic recommendations for the Christmas period. I highly recommend Selina to anyone visiting Oaxaca!
Not a good experience...the "security guard" is completely unhinged - absolutely mad behaviours by said individual. At around 11pm the night of my arrival, he came galloping over to me at a workspace as if I was implementing a global meltdown and frantically started relocating me to another place. The following morning I was up at 6:45am and minding my own business when my phone for literally seconds started playing a YouTube video full volume. Within a few more seconds before I could mute it, the same guy comes charging over (it's not that early....almost 7am in a hostel?) and literally looses his mind! I've nevrr experienced behaviours like this by staff...this guy in particular treats the place like it's his own personal echo chamber and that it's a privilege for you to be there! Aside from the above, the place is really nice, so the latter is a shame and the desk staff were friendly. The room, however, had no windows and though fine, wasn't as good as other Selinas.
