Pro: Lage, Saunabereich ist gut ausgestattet, die Zimmer im Maisonette-Stil im Obergeschoss haben Charme Personal: einige, handverlesene Mitarbeiter sind aufrichtig nett und freundlich, eine Mehrheit umgibt die Aura von "stören Sie mich nicht bei der Arbeit" Unser Fazit vorneweg: Ü60-Reisegruppen kamen voll auf ihre Kosten kommen, bildeten sie doch die Mehrheit der Gäste während unseres Aufenthalts. Erwähnen müssen wir die musikalische Berieselung mit Saxophon- und Panflöte-Interpretationen von Hits aus den 70ern (und das bereits zum Frühstück). Respekt! Das findet man ja kaum in einer Warteschleife beim Callcenter, obwohl es manche Wartenden in die Flucht treiben könnte. Tatsächlich hat die Ausstattung des Hotels bereits einige Reisegruppen erlebt. Auch bei bester Pflege macht sich der Zahn der Zeit bemerkbar an dem Möbeln und dem Bodenbelag. Unsere Bettwäsche war ausgefranst, die Handtücher trugen seltsamerweise Etiketten eines anderen Hotels. Kaffee ist Geschmackssache, hier haben wir schnell Abstand davon genommen. Nicht einmal der gute Kaffeeautomat von Franke konnte mit der Bohnenauswahl Gutes zustande bringen. Alles in allem war es ein schönes Wochenende. Uns gab zu denken, dass die Abreisenden vor uns an der Rezeption die Frage nach dem Aufenthalt mit "Bestens!" beantworteten. Wir gehen davon aus, dass wir zur falschen Zeit im falschen Hotel waren. Das Best Western ist eine renommierte Kette. Und wir sind nicht das Maß aller Dinge.

Grundsätzlich gutes Hotel, aber sehr kleine Zimmer

Pros: Alles in allem gut, insbesondere die Lage für Skifahrer. Frühstück und auch a la Card Restaurante ebenfalls sehr gut. Lediglich die sehr kleinen Zimme
Cons: Größere Zimmer.
Location: Ski, Wandern.

Lediglich die sehr kleinen Zimmer mit wenig Ablage ist gerade für Skiurlaub etwas enttäuschend. Schöne Sauna zum Entspannen nach dem Sport. Kann man grundsätzlich durchaus weiter empfehlen.

Super Schlechtes Essen trotz Glutamat, Plattenbau, FDGB Heim

Wer der größte Fan von Aldi und Lidl ist, zweimal im Jahr beim Chinesen "Süss-Sauer" futtert, nur isst um satt zu werden, nicht weiss was ein guter Cocktail ist, dem Gästestandard der ehemaligen FDGB Heimen reicht, immer noch im Plattenbau wohnt, ist hier bestens aufgehoben. Vorteil: Lage, Lage, Lage (das Best-Western hat ein verdammt guten Standort 50 Meter vom Lift entfernt), Gute Sauna, freundliches Personal und sonst: Hotel ist halt ein alter Plattenbau, da können auch umfangreiche Umbaumasstnahmen nichts ändern. Das Essen ist "Super Schlecht", alles kommt vom Großhandel in Discounter-Qualität (gefrorenes Brot, gefrorenes Gemüse, verpackte Wurst, das Essen mit viel Zucker, Salz und Glutamat. Es schmeckt trotzdem nicht. Halb-Pension geht überhaupt nicht (wir mussten uns Abends als Familie auf dem Zimmer von Brot und Wurst gekauft von Fleischer im Urlaub ernähren). Nach 5 Tagen Frühstück kann man das Essen nicht mehr sehen. Selbst zu DDR Zeiten war das Essen nie so schlecht. Ich konnte zum Schluss nur noch Hafer-Flocken von der Kinder-Buffee essen. Ich habe auch einmal Mittag gegessen (ein Schnitzel). Ich weiss bis heute nicht was das genau war. Selbst Kartoffeln kann der Koch nicht kochen. Fazit: Auf keinen Fall das Best Western (Birkenhof Hotel) buchen. Genauso wie das Ahorn Hotel (selbe Kette). halt Plattenbau ... Zimmer P2 Wohung. Pro Zimmer zwei Toiletten, zwei Duschen (35 m2), gefühlte 10 m2
