There are so much that i love about the Carousel, but I do have 2 complaints about our recent stay. The indoor pool was closed the entire time. To my understanding, it was a mechanical issue, but there was no sign on the door to let people know it was closed. A sign would've prevented the multiple questions throughout the day, every day. The second complaint is the game room by the pool. Those machines need some maintenance because half of them didnt work and there were 3 machines that took my credits but wouldn't let us play. My kids were quite disappointed and the front desk can't even do anything about the machines. I called the number on the card for assistance, but that was no help either. Other than those 2 things, we had a wonderful experience in our 3 night stay. Theres a heated outdoor pool that we enjoyed and we went to Jolly Rogers to make up for the games. We come to OC at the same time every year and wouldn't even think about staying at another hotel.

It’s a nice hotel but it’s dated. The bathrooms and furniture need some updgrades but I love the ice skating rink and arcade. Would stay there again, the staff were nice and friendly and the lobby smells great.

This place is perfect for beach The two bartenders liz and Cezar we met they are great vey nice me and my husband had a great time at the patio bar we will definitely be back!

Keycards kept deactivating and I constantly had to ride the elevators back and forth to have them fixed. When you're coming in from a night a parties and drinks this is aggravating especially when there are no restrooms in the lobby area.

This seems like a great place for an active family stay. There’s plenty for the kids to do like ice skating, indoor and outdoor pool, arcade, store and cafe, outside bar and fire pits. The room was a nice size and the Kitchenette was great to have. The staff were all very kind and helpful as needed. For a family who appreciates quiet and downtime, this is not the place. It does have quiet time from 11pm-8am and this is honored. During the other hours of the day the hotel is quite overstimulating. The cleanliness of facilities seemed unwell to me. Some of the surfaces in our rooms bathroom weren’t wiped and had dust. The phone was sticky and didn’t work. The carpet and couch did not seem clean. The moisure in the air made the carpet and couch feel a bit damp. Additionally the indoor hot tub and pool water looked very murky which gave it a ‘not clean’ look and the next day was closed for maintenance. The bathroom in the indoor pool was dirty and at 10am hadn’t looked like it had been cleaned from the night before. Again, all of the staff there were helpful and kind. I would have liked it much more if it appeared cleaner.

Worth what you pay for

The first night we were here the fire alarm went off which was very unpleasant. No staff were present and every guest was left to their own devices. There was no clarity on what was going on or what we should do. This was extremely unsatisfactory. As for the room quality- ceiling tiles are folding and warping in the bathroom and the bed sheets had stains on them. We were very appreciative of the cleaning staff, they went above and beyond, and the bartenders at tsunami were pleasant as well.

Our rooms were clean and nice and everyone that we dealt with at the hotel was very friendly and helpful! The one negative thing was that people in a room right close to us were smoking marijuana the entire time we were staying there. Every time we opened our door to our walkout to try and enjoy the outdoors, pool, etc., we were hit in the face with such a strong marijuana smell that we couldn’t take it after a short time and had to close our door. Very disappointing considering this is supposed to be a smoke free hotel. We also had two small children that we did not want breathing the strong odors. If this behavior is allowed, it should NOT be and you should make certain to let customers know when they made a reservation.

Overall this place is run down and gross. Maybe 40 years ago pride was taken in hotel presentation. Now the common areas stink of humidity and cinnamon popouri to cover up the stank. We also got a comforter that was supposed to be washed instead it had barf stains and rice smooshed in it. This place gets 1 star and needs renovated 20 years ago. Overall summary is the place is GROSS!
