Wonderful vacation in the country side

The property was beautiful, quiet and stress free. Antonio came up to greet us after we had settled in to drop off some coffee pods ,he had left a wonderful bottle of wine and fresh pastries for us.He is a great communicator, always guick to get back to us, and had supplied multiple suggestions for places to eat,places to see and where to shop. We used his place as a base to travel the area. Lots to see from old castles, Roman ruins, to a mine tour and of course the beautiful coastal areas. A walk around the hectares of his beautiful property was a nice way to spend the morning. Also the daily visits from his chickens was enjoyable.We would love to come back.Obrigado Antonio

Peace & tranquility in rural Alentejo

We had a fantastic 8 night stay in this comfortable, rustic cottage, which has everything you need for an enjoyable holiday. The terrace gets the sun all day long and the views are amazing. Inside the house is very comfortable, but we didn’t spend much time inside as the outside is so fantastic. We loved watching the night’s sky and saw shooting stars every night. The cottage is in an amazing setting. There are 2 other cabins on the property, but the plot is so large that you can’t see or hear them. There is a private lake, with seating making it perfect for an evening drink or picnic! The private viewpoint overlooking the whole property is amazing. We also enjoyed feeding the chickens and geese. There is a local bar (Cafe Primo Sergio) a 30 min walk from the house which serves good, home cooked food. The owner speaks very good English and both he and his wife are really friendly. The closest town is Cercal which is about a 10 minute drive away. It has everything you need, including an excellent bakery. Communication with the owner was excellent before and during our stay.

A relaxing break

A quiet, relaxing and rustic stay in a beautiful area and great surroundings. Whilst not in Milfontes ( actually just outside Circal) it is a great centre for touring the area and visiting Milfontes, Porto Cova, Silves and many of the smaller coves and villages. The house itself was spotlessly clean and a great place for your holiday.

Lovely spot

We loved Antonio’s beautiful little cabin. Very serene and we felt surrounded by tranquility. There was a miscommunication on our part about not knowing we needed a car, which we didn’t have. Antonio was excellent and sorted things out and so all was good. Thank you Antonio

Super place, super host

So peaceful

Magical stay in Antonio's house. The property has everything you need but the best part is outside ,sitting in the shade ,listening to the bells of the sheep and taking in the peace and tranquility of being in the countryside,away from noise, buildings and people. You could spend hours in the hammock or sitting on the jetty ,by the watering hole, just letting time drift by. Small town 5 mins away for all your needs and a choice of beautiful beaches 20 minute drive away. Antonio was a kind and helpful host who was always available to help with any queries. I loved it and will definitely return .

A wonderful escape from it all!

A comfortable, cosy cottage, well-equipped for its size. Antonio proved to be an ideal landlord who could not do enough to ensure our holiday was a success. We learned much about the country from him and this added greatly to our enjoyment. We certainly hope to return some day.

Lovely house, quiet surroundings

This is a beautiful little house, set in a large area of cork oak trees. The trip back to the nearest town, and the shops, is only about 10 minutes but you definitely need your own transport. Antonio was very helpful and welcoming and had provided us with everything we needed, plus a few little welcome extras. There was plenty of wood for the fire and we were able to collect eggs from Antonio's hens. The surrounding area is very pleasant, there are fantastic beaches about 30 minutes away and some interesting historical sights. We would thoroughly recommend this house, and the Alentejo region generally, for a stay in Portugal.

What a perfect find!

As travelers, we enjoy a peaceful quiet setting and this lovely cottage provided exactly that, but much more. The beautiful setting in the Alentejo region offered such lovely views of the hillside surrounding this property and the deck, complete with hammocks and comfortable seating invited us outdoors every morning and evening. We walked directly out our door and could hike for an hour or two just taking in the fields and countryside. Antonio was a host who went well above and beyond to make our stay perfect. He gave us tips and suggestions tailored to our own interests. The nearby town of Cercal provided all our shopping needs but Vila Nova de Milfonts, was also close enough for a more extensive shopping experience. We drove to the Algarve for a doable day trip. This cottage was all we could have hoped for and more, and we highly recommend it to future travelers.

This is a wonderful place. If quiet rural location your preference then this place ticks all the boxes. As visited in winter period the provision of an abundance of firewood was helpful. Many local peaceful walks available and Antonio encourages that. Highly recommended and our host was excellent in every way from the start of the booking to the vacation of the property. Ein Traum für Ruhesuchende

Idyllische Lage weitab von jedem Tourismus. Allein gelegenes Haus ohne Nachbarn, mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Schöne Terrasse rund ums Haus (man kann der Sonne folgen) mit Hängematte. Ein kleiner Teich in der Nähe, etwas weiter eine Aussichtsplattform im Korkeichenwald. Neben dem Haus ein grosser Feigenbaum, an dem wir uns bedienen durften. Antonio ist ein aufmerksamer und liebevoller Gastgeber, der sehr um das wohl seine Gäste bemüht ist. Viele Tipps für Ausflüge und Restaurants, zur Begrüßung und zum Abschied Wein und süsses Gebäck und zwischendurch frische Eier aus dem nahen Hühnerstall. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und werden wohl auch wiederkommen!

La maison était très agréable avec la petite ville de Cercal toute proche avec toutes les commodités. À 25 min des plages environ mais ce n'est pas un problème, on y accède très vite.

Ruhiges Alentejo Häuschen

Wir haben eine sehr entspannte und ruhige Woche in Antónios Häuschen verbracht. Es ist ist alles da was man braucht und António steht immer zur Verfügung, wenn noch was gebraucht wird. Wer Ruhe und Natur mag, ist hier genau richtig. Cercal liegt etwas im Landesinnern, dessen muss man sich bewusst sein. Bis nach Vila Nova de Milfontes bzw. zum Strand sind es immer ca. 25 Minuten fahrt. Wir fanden es toll!

Magnifique . Local très agréable, dans la campagne, région du Alentejo. Après un an de travail, c'est le plus proche du paradis. Les plages, les plus belles du Portugal, n' étaient trop loin( entre 15-25km). Magnifique

Großartiger Ort für eine Auszeit

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit im Haus und auf dem Gelände. Alles ist mit viel Liebe ein- und hergerichetet und António ist ein toller Gastgeber, schnell erreichbar, super sympathisch und hilfsbereit. Es hat uns so gut gefallen, dass wir spontan länger geblieben waren, hätten wir nicht schon fix eine Folgeunterkunft gebucht.

Een privé paradijs op een landgoed

Als ik een cijfer van 1 tot 10 zou mogen geven zou het een 12 zijn. Het is uitzonderlijk. Een prachtig huisje op een groot landgoed waar verder niemand is. Een ochtend (of op een ander tijdstip) wandeling op het landgoed is fenomenaal. MAAR! de beschrijving van de afstanden kloppen NIET. Stranden liggen zeker niet op loop afstand. Er zijn veel stranden in de buurt, maar die zijn een klein half uurtje rijden. Geen enkel probleem maar het is goed om dat te weten. Op de kaart staat het huisje in villa Nova de Milfontes, maar het is tien minuten rijden buiten Caceres. Dat gezegd hebbend is dit huis met alles er op en er aan één grote tractatie!!

A beautiful spot!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Antonios place. He is a very kind and welcoming host and the house and its sourroundings are just wonderful. We enjoyed the calmness of the sourrounding nature and the kids loved the chicken and the sheep! The place is very comfortable and has everything you need for having a great time. Thank you, Antonio!
