I received a welcome email for the wrong weekend, followed up with an apology but nothing on our actually check in day. Never received the code for the front door, called both phone numbers listed, no one answered. Discovered a side door wide open. Finally was responded to in the app with multiple code options saying one of them should work. All outdoor lighting was shut off, no instructions on how to turn it on, my parents missed the house in the dark, then we had to unload their car in the dark, before finally figuring it out. We were told to bring our own linens (which we did) but did not expect there to be no bedding whatsoever. We were also told to bring our own towels, which we assumed to mean bath towels, however there wasn’t a kitchen towel or hand towel in the entire house. Upon arrival there was about a quarter of a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom, when I asked the owner about more, he stated “it is locked up and we have our cleaning service put out one roll and you’re expected to provide your own after that” which was NOT communicated ahead of time, nor was it really the case since the roll that was out was nearly gone before we even arrived.Day two, a beeping sound in the fireplace. Owner confirmed it was a known issue with the batteries for the remote, walked me through how to remove them to stop the beeping and then said “oh you probably won’t be using it anyway”. No apology. The house was clean, location was good, but hospitality was extremely lacking.
