We checked into this Holiday Inn Express around midnight, and the front desk staff was very kind and professional despite the late hour. However, that was the only positive aspect of our stay.
Our assigned room on the fourth floor had clearly not been cleaned—one of the beds looked slept in, and there was a water bottle left behind. We called the front desk, and while they quickly reassigned us a new room on the first floor, it meant hauling all of our luggage back downstairs.
Unfortunately, the second room wasn’t much better. We found used snorkeling earplugs and nose plugs, raising serious concerns about how thoroughly the rooms are cleaned. By this point, it was 1 AM, and we were too exhausted to deal with another room change.
The issues didn’t stop there. When showering, the shower handle came off, making it nearly impossible to adjust the temperature or turn the water off properly. My husband did his best to fix it, but without tools, it was still a hassle.
Overall, this stay was frustrating and disappointing. If cleanliness and basic room maintenance are important to you, I’d recommend skipping this hotel—there are plenty of other options in the area.
