Rooms have high level of finish, especially bathroom. Overall room size is a bit small. Included breakfast was fantastic. Staff was super helpful and cordial. Location is next to center of mass transit; train, tram and bus so access to most anywhere is simple. Magor tourist site ar within walking distance. Exceptional property and operation.

Amerikalinjen Deserves A Plus Grade

Absolutely perfect location to explore Oslo - short walks to the Opera House, Munch Museum, shopping, restaurants and the train station. Amazing restoration of the former Norwegian American Shipping Lines offices. Top of the line breakfast buffet included. Excellent service and very friendly staff.

We stayed at this property for 3 nights. The room was fine but as the outside temperature increased so did the room temperature, in spite of the supposed “air conditioning”. The first night the temperature was comfortable, on the second night it was warm and on the third night it was hot and we could not sleep. Upon checkout, I complained to the young lady at the front desk (same person that checked us in) and she apologized and asked if we had not gotten a fan. I told her that we did not. She told me that she would issue a credit for that night. After over week and no credit, I followed up with the hotel on several occasions and got no response. I also followed with Expedia and the hotel told them that they would make no adjustment to my bill. I do not recommend staying at Amerikalinhen because the a/c does not work and management cannot be relied upon.
