Great Service and Convenient Location

We are frequent international travelers. Loved the location and the service! The location was a short walk from public transport and in a cozy, quiet neighborhood. The front desk staff were friendly and attentive to our needs, especially after a long international flight. The breakfast buffet was well worth the splurge with an incredible amount of variety. We will stay here again!

For whatever reason, this was the first property that Expedia recommended for Grünerløkka and the results did not provide a distance, making it appear that the property was in Grünerløkka. I ended up wasting valuable time getting to where I needed to go. This hotel is not in that neighborhood. It is also very corporate with fluorescent lighting, and requires an extra charge for breakfast, whereas the other hotels I stayed at did not add breakfast on as an extra charge. It’s an adequate hotel, but I do not understand the excessively high rating and it’s not within the main neighborhoods of the city.

It is great modern hotel - very friendly and helpful staff and good value for money by Oslo standards. That is probably because it is away from the centre in a fairly uninspiring location. We didn’t have a car so travelled in and out via Okern T-bane station - it’s about a 10-15 minute walk away - not too far, but not super convenient. I wouldn’t like doing the walk after dark and once you are at the hotel, you’re stuck there. The top floor bar and restaurant is pretty run of the mill with a limited menu and, of course, the usual Oslo prices. I don’t mind paying high prices, but it has to be for exceptional food. My only other comment is that everything is very high tech (loved the lifts), but sometimes the controls in the room were a bit too clever by half.

The hotel itself is ok, nothing special, but decent. The service was a bit of a challenge. We have an E vehicle and they have chargers on site, however the chargers only work with a local mobile. The staff know, others have complained but it still has not been resolved. We wanted to have a drink in the downstairs lounge area, however we had to go up to the top floor and at the bar and bring them down. The staff were not rude, more Norwegian direct, but not too eager to help either.
