The hotel is great, the staff is super helpful. It has excellent facilities better than avg Holiday Inn Express, interestingly enough it has a small pool which some people would like. The gym is very good. The breakfast is better in the early hours, as the time passes it has limited options offered, but the staff can provide you what you need. I had a good stay It is very close to Rideau downtown with lots of bars and restaurants. Though, for women walking alone it might feel a bit unpleasant as there are many homeless persons around the property.

Beds were very comfortable and room was kept nice and clean. Water pressure in showers could have been stronger. Some staff were friendlier than others but overall they were very helpful. Breakfast staff happy and cheerful. Onsite parking not guaranteed and spaces were tight but once you got a space, you could have in and out privileges. There is a safe injection site across the street but the residents seemed harmless. Some restaurants and museums within walking distance. Overall a great experience.

Great rooms, bad services and area

Rooms were great! But the services were poor.. Breakfast was a nightmare, way to crowded for the quantities, people lined up for 10 minutes to meet an empty counter. (No more yogurt, bacon, pancakes, etc) staff was trying their best but it there’s simply to many people for the capacity of the cafeteria. Pool was opaque and smelled bad. If you go, ask for anything above the 3rd floor, otherwise you feel like you’re sleeping on the street with the constant noise of buses and emergency vehicles on king edward ave. Parking was full and we were redirected at a nearby parking spot but the area is pretty sketchy at night with the homeless shelter right in front and the fentanyl users in the back of the hotel parking. Great thing they have a security cie for the perimeter.

There is no onsite parking.

The ad stated that there was "parking available". It did not state that there was no parking onsite and the customer had to find their own parking at their own cost outside the cost of the room. And the only having 2 elevators for 10 floors made trying to go to your room very time consuming. We at one point climbed 12 flights of stairs to return to the room

Hotel was nice, good breakfast, clean, friendly staff. Not in a great area of the city. Wouldnt want to walk around at night. Although close to byward market, the walk there wasnt great. More reasonably priced hotel but just be aware of the surroundings.

We booked 2 Queen beds room and we got 2 double beds. We didn't say anything at the time because we were so tired and we had a baby, we didn't want to move around rooms. It was not comfortable for me and my husband to sleep on a double bed size. Next time make sure to book the correct room for your guests.

This is a conflicting review. The hotel itself is quite nice, and it’s very close to the ByWard Market; however, there is a safe supply/sketchy area literally across the street. Pros: - pretty clean, felt comfortable enough to walk around room in socks - very nice room, very comfortable bed, loved the pillows - very nice breakfast, one hot item rotated (sausage patty, turkey patty, scrambled egg), always had omelettes and vegetarian beans. Oatmeal, basic bakery items, pancakes, cereal, cinnamon buns, fruit. - parking garage was decent. Tight squeeze, don’t recommend trucks. - security posted throughout the day. Key needed to get to garage, garage elevator, and into hotel after 10:30pm. Surprisingly, no key needed in elevator so lacking security during the day. Cons: - no parking day 1, couldn’t pay in advance for day 2-3 until the next day so parked at garage in ByWard and brought the car to the hotel around 11-12pm - parking was $18/night - coffee maker didn’t work, they brought us a different one on day 2 - no fan in the bathroom, got humid fast - TV channels felt a bit limited - sketchy area right across the street - a bit confusing to get to, due to one-way roads If you know to avoid, sketchy area isn’t as bad. At intersection, cross straight and walk down St. Patrick until you get to Dalhousie.

Hotel was clean, it has a lovely terrace overlooking the city unfortunately it over looks a community hub for addicts and/or homeless, there was no parking left on site after I called to verify we had a parking spot it apparently didn’t get communicated or left on file leaving me to walk alone with 4 children under 5 including a newborn passed this community hub at 9pm. Also breakfast was a disaster, waited 40+ minutes just to get breakfast, although everything was filled and hot, and the staff in the dining Was great, the layout/set up is not

The hotel itself was excellent, although I would only stay with they relocated the hotel , or the city of Ottawa did something about the homeless. Thank goodness I was travelling with my husband as I would not have felt safe walking the streets without him.
