The bathroom set up is a little wonky‐ The bathroom door opens right into the toilet so only one person really could benin there at once. The shower door also open out into the bathroom and did not have a good seal when closed and being used. Water leaked out on the floor. The night front desk worker was not the most kindest person- it felt like forced kindness. The property also charges for service dogs. The moring front desk worker was delightful. Walking distance to the beach and a lovely walk at that. They offer "breakfast bags" which is a little odd and felt kinda cheap but still gave us a little fuel before we could actually grab something more fulfilling.

Everything was ok overall. Clean room, well kept appliances. During checking we were told that breakfast was included. My niece has celiac disease, she can not have any gluten. The lady in the front desk told us, they had some items gluten free and they were aware of cross contamination. In the morning, we went to the breakfast area. We were received by a rude lady. We asked her for the gluten free options. She said “I can’t help you with any of that” “there’s a line behind you” I can’t waste time on this” “I’m just being real, telling you the way it is” I don’t think I have ever being disrespected this way. We are used to find gluten free places to go, I’m not upset she didn’t have GF options. It was the way she treated us with no reason or provocation. I mention this at the time of check out. The lady at the front desk was polite and very apologetic. She also mentioned they DID have gluten free foods to offer. They told us they couldn’t make any refund for the breakfast we paid and we couldn’t get. I think it is a solid place to stay. I don’t think anybody with specific medical needs would be safe there. There’s no flexibility. I don’t think we would be coming back.

It was an OK stay. The property could use some renovating. The sliding door to the bathroom didn’t close all the way and the bathroom was small. Quite a bit of light comes in through the windows (no black out curtains) and the walls are pretty thin; yes, you could hear guests’ conversations from other rooms and the front door leading out of the room to the parking area.

The hotel is in a great area. We were able to walk to the lighthouse and along the coast. The hotel was cute and our room was spacious. The bed was very comfortable. The grab and go breakfadt was simple.

The cottages are in a beautiful setting. It appears to been originally built as a church retreat grounds. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and clean and had a good bed. We stayed 3 nights. Pacific Grove is a much better option than Monterey. The property was great the cottage was very large. Bed was a bit on the hard side but that is just preference. Parking is hard it you have a larger car to heads up. If our in a cottage the pool is across the street but thats ok. Breakfast was really nice, I wish hey mixed it up each day though but thats me being picky since they stay overall wasn't anything to complain about. I'd stay again for sure.

The staff was excellent. There is no air conditioning, so upon arrival our cottage room was stuffy and hot. We couldn’t open the windows because they are so old and stuck, so we asked for fans. One fan was so loud we just turned it off and stuck with the small oscillating fan, which didn’t help at all while we slept. The room was nice as we entered, but upon further inspection, it was not maintained well. The baseboards were falling apart, the mini fridge smelled so bad when we opened it we couldn’t use it, the sink area was outdated and the cupboard was falling off the hinges, the shower head had so much calcium build up, so not sure if that’s part of the cleaning maintenance. When my daughter used the toilet it was so wobbly she almost fell off. The staff was so nice about it though and fixed it right away. The free breakfast in the cottages was great. The staff who ran the dining area were so nice and accommodating.
