Solo traveler here and this was a very nice Old Hollywood type resort. Gave me I love lucy vibes. Great staff. Definitely dated resort but loved the old vintage look. And pools are warm. Will be back for sure

My family loves desert hot springs spa and hotel. We’ve been here multiple times this year. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming. We needed a room change due to my son’s recent knee surgery Brandy and Tom we’re on it. They were able to get us a room that didn’t require going up stairs. I love this hotel and the amazing staff. It’s always a pleasure visiting DHS spa and hotel.

2nd time here and we do like the bar and food. The cook is excellent but depending on the bar person or if low on staff, it can be a big wait. Checked in on a Friday with one person checking in. It was awful. She did her best but it would've been better if she kept the chatting down. We didnt get in until after check in. People were waiting a long time. We didnt have a privacy curtain and it was a rough 1 night stay with the sun blaring in. 2nd day, it was replaced. The maintenance guys were great. The rooms are very old, but it works for us. Jessica, life guard, was awesome. The big pool was green & the only cool one available. The others were blue but way too hot and you couldn't find relief. It was just an ok stay. We did see a lot of staff busting their butts but the day we left was the day they were cleaning the big pool. Such a bummer.

When we checked in, they gave us a room key, but the door was locked from the inside. They had to switch our rooms. The walkway to the room had what looked like terribly worn out green turf. We walked in the room and saw that in the corners large pieces of carpet were peeling up from the floor underneath. One of the beds had a big brown stain on the white comforter. We could also see the pool from the room, and saw that one of the pools was completely drained. This was the first time in our lives that we walked right back out of the room and canceled our reservation. The staff was very kind and apologetic and offered us a refund. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

It was so disappointing that the restaurant manager and bar staff where being racist towards us. They had a karaoke station and when we asked for spanish music the person in charge said that was illegal to have there. We got pushed out of the place and still had to deal with confrontational guest there. The hotel didn’t do anything about it. And the most surprising thing is that they had alot of latin cleaning staff.

I rarely write reviews, but our experience at Desert Hotel Springs Spa Hotel was so profoundly disappointing that I feel compelled to warn future guests. From the moment we entered the lobby, we were hit with a strong, lingering odor that set the tone for the rest of our stay. The atmosphere throughout the property felt unsafe. The hotel exterior is in a shocking state of disrepair — uneven and cracked concrete, crumbling façades, and a general appearance more reminiscent of an abandoned facility than a functioning resort. The pool area was equally uninviting. Multiple pools were out of order, the water in the functioning ones was murky, and the turf flooring was filthy. Even more concerning: a staff member explicitly warned us not to step in a puddle leaking from the ice machine, citing a risk of electrocution due to an electrical undercurrent. This is not just unacceptable — it’s dangerous. Inside the rooms, things didn’t improve. Curtains bore cigarette burns, and the entire place reeked of marijuana. The guest experience was made worse by a mix-up in communication: we were initially told we could use the spa facilities at the sister property, Miracle Spa, only to be informed later that this would require an additional day-pass fee. Meanwhile, the code to the parking lot was changed mid-stay without any notice, and our room keys were inexplicably deactivated halfway through our visit.
