We stayed in a one bedroom apartment that was located on the backside and at the end of the building. Our unit faced the beautiful mountains. Great view! There were planes that flew over on their way to the Palm Springs airport, but stopped around 10:30 pm, so our night was very quiet. The bed was king sized and comfortable with plenty of pillows. We had no problem sleeping. We liked having an apartment versus a regular hotel room. The surrounding grounds were well kept and flowers were seen everywhere. The one criticism we have is that we were charged a resort fee and still had to pay a fee to play tennis on their courts.

Everything we hoped for and more

As experienced travelers, we know that sometimes the advertised accommodations can be rather embellished. But in this case, they were right on the mark. The suite, they called a villa, was huge. Even though, the proximity to the pool, jacuzzi, games room, etc. was close, the noise from these hotspots was barely noticeable. The value for money was fantastic. While it is not located in central Palm Springs, we found the surrounding area full of all that we needed. We could not be happier with our time at the Hyatt Vacation Club at Desert Oasis.

Expected more from a Hyatt property

Our room/suite was outdated. While the furniture was fairly new, the bathroom tile really needs to be redone as does all the carpeting. The freezer ice maker appears to just send water into the ice catch bin, which freezes into a solid block. The ice maker froze in the "on" position. Couldn't turn it off. They never really cleaned our room. Took garbage but not quite daily. Gave towels upon request, but that was it. No vacuuming or cleaning of bathroom or kitchen. Sort of like we were the forgotten guests in the old building. Otherwise was a quiet and nice place. Just expected a lot more from a Hyatt property.

Terrible. Check In was hostile and the first room was on the road, loud and smelt very very bad. Sofa bed was very uncomfortable and it was like pulling teeth for bedding and a duvet. Shower nozzle was stuck and A/C didn’t work well. We moved rooms after being told there was no other rooms but asked for a refund and was told another was available. Interesting.
