This 70 m² gîte, rated 3 épis (ears of corn), is located on the upper floor of a former farmhouse. It includes a cozy living room with a wood-burning stove, a fully equipped kitchen, two bedrooms (one with a double bed, one with two single beds), a bathroom with a bathtub, and a separate toilet.
Comforts include: towels and sheets provided, beds made upon arrival, internet access, dishwasher, washing machine, and TV. The terrace and shared garden invite you to relax, and the Forezian gallery offers a direct view of the peaceful countryside.
In October 2024, La Grunonde received the national René Fontaine - Maions Paysannes de France "Coup de Coeur" award for the quality of the restoration of this former farmhouse. This gîte for 4 people welcomes you at an altitude of 830 meters, in a lush setting typical of the Monts du Forez. This tastefully renovated farmhouse offers a soft and relaxing atmosphere, featuring wooden floors, whitewashed walls, and carefully selected furniture. From the Forezian gallery, you can admire the rolling meadows while the children play in the garden. An ideal place to reconnect with what matters most, far from the hustle and bustle.
Palogneux is a small, unspoiled village, ideal for nature lovers. A few kilometers away, you'll discover the Chorsin waterfall, the medieval ruins of Couzan Castle, and the unique basalt columns of the Forez region. In winter, skiing enthusiasts can head to the Chalmazel ski resort (17 km) or the Espace Nordique du Haut Forez (12 km) for moments in the great outdoors. Hikers can set off on foot directly from the cottage along the marked trails.

From the basalt organs of the village of Palogneux, to Hautes Chaumes, via the Chorsin waterfall or the Couzan castle, I can't wait to show you our treasures, off the beaten track.
My proximity to nature has always led me to respect it. My peasant origins taught me to listen to it with common sense and humility. The welcome of our guests and the activity of raising calves under the mother, developed by my brother, are driven by these values on a daily basis.
