RIU Plaza has an excellent location in the financial district. The lobby is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and very cozy. The breakfast buffet is excellent. The service overall was very good.

We had a terrible experience with the welcoming at the hotel. We had to book another room because we didn't arrive on time due to a medical emergency, even though we explained the situation. The hotel is trying to charge us for a new reservation without offering any solutions. Due to our physical condition, we paid for another night. Despite making this payment, they left us waiting for three hours after our arrival. I am shocked at how inhuman this place is; they only seem to care about money and tips.

Great place to stay

The hotel was very clean and the staff was courteous and friendly. I arrived at the hotel 30min prior to check in time and was allowed to do an early check in. The food at the sushi restaurant was amazing and the breakfast buffet too. Great place to stay close to tourist areas.

We only stayed one night, since we were returning from a countrywide trip and flying out the next day. My wife needed a wheelchair due to a leg injury and the hotel assisted. All staff, from front desk, to bell hop, to breakfast waiters - all great, courtesy, kind and helpful.

5-Star Experience at Riu Plaza Panama – Just One Small Suggestion Our stay at the Riu Hotel Plaza Panama was absolutely fantastic! The staff were friendly and professional, the rooms were modern and spotless, and the amenities throughout the hotel—from the breakfast buffet to the pool area—made our trip feel like a true getaway. The central location was a big plus, making it easy to explore the city and enjoy the surrounding area. One small thing that would have made our experience even better: having access to a microwave. We ended up wasting quite a bit of food because the restaurants and café on site were unable to reheat leftovers for us. It’s a small convenience that would go a long way for guests, especially families or those staying multiple nights. Overall, we truly enjoyed our time at Riu Plaza Panama and would gladly return. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Panama City!
