Overall, we really liked the property. A few things that could have happened to make it a 5. The internet for our unit quit working after the first day. I still had to work to do and no internet provided challenges. The lift was not working. We were on the top floor, about 2 1/2 floors. This would have been a major burden if we had large suitcases. On the plus side, the apartment was nicely designed and comfortable for 6 adults. The kitchen was well equipped. The location was great and walkable to restaurants, shops and parks. Even with a few issues, we recommend Casa Diez.

If you want to stay in the historic district it’s the perfect location. Be mindful that gps won’t take you to the correct location so be patient as look.

Perfect Spot and Place

The unit is inside a secure courtyard. You must enter an access code to get inside and all units face inside the courtyard overlooking the pool. Pool is small, but works great for the quick dip between activities. Units was clean. Kitchen very nice sized with all equipment necessary. A/C kept us cool in all rooms. Staff was very responsive and polite. Tons of great restaurants, bars, rooftops, etc. walking distance. Would definitely recommend. Both bathrooms are located on 2nd floor so if you have someone that can't do stairs, it will be an issue. The bedroom on 1st floor has windows that face the courtyard, but the shades are not darkening so maybe an eye mask for those staying in that room. Otherwise, everything was perfect. Definitely beware of where you are walking. Casco Viejo is very safe with police presence everywhere, but the danger zone is only a few minutes walk so make sure you know where you are going. We got a little side tracked and luckily the police were there to turn us around. But most areas we felt safe and definitely very safe in Casco Viejo.
