Large apartment, great location in 3rd arrondisement
Property manager was not at property as promised to provide access and orientation upon our arrival. Left waiting outside on sidewalk until people leaving let us in the first door but still locked out behind a security gate until his son arrived to let us into the apartment. The apartment was not well cleaned and poorly supplied/provisioned for our 11 night stay. Two rolls of toilet paper, one tea towel, Apartment on second landing, up a total of 40 stairs, and the entry level and stairway were not well lighted and motion detectors would turn off prematurely. Key fob gate only worked half the time so that if you were inside trying to leave, you had to reach through gate and punch code into the key pad; very difficult in the dark. Bedroom was on stairway side of apartment and needed metal shades closed at all times for privacy from higher floor apartment dwellers using stairs. The bedroom windows opened onto an interior ventilation shaft that had the building’s garbage containers at the bottom. Apartment has heating, no A/C. This would be an issue in the heat of a Paris Summer when the only source of ventilation would be by opening windows which might provide some relief but would also be very noisy as the apartment is right above Rue de Bretagne and next door to the always bustling brasserie, Le Progres, which is open until 2:00 am nightly.
Liked: Large apartment size. Big windows and lots of light in living area. Great location in 3rd arrondissement.
