Great little 2Star hotel

I've stayed at this hotel many times over the past couple of decades. I always return because its location is fantastic, its spotlessly clean and the staff have always been truly delightful. This is a basic hotel but it does what it says and is a great place to stay.

The hotel is right next to Luxembourg Gardens and pantheon. Very good location. Lots of restaurants, cafes, McDonald's and burger King. Monoprix grocery store is 7 min walk. Lots of activity and nightlife. Notre dame is less then 10 minute walk. And louvre is within site after that. Maybe another 15 to 20 min casual walk. Service folks are very friendly and nice. They Speak English and try to make your stay comfortable so remember to tip the cleaning ladies. Small breakfast downstairs for a few euros. Beds are comfortable and sheets are clean. Best price for location you can get. If they get a mini fridge In each room And fresh paint it would be perfect.

Hotel de Senlis

Great location in a hotel that was a former monastery. I had a terrific conversation with one of the guys there who knew the whole history of the hotel and neighborhood.

The hotel is in a terrific location. The front desk staff is helpful and friendly, always addresses you by name. The room was clean, comfortable and modern. Great stay.

Quick stay near Luxembourg Station

The location was good, Staff were extremely helpful in navigating transport to the airport amid a taxi strike and significant metro delays (we made our flight in case you were wondering!) We felt a bit mislead as the pictures on the listing as they did not reflect the condition of the room we had. Elevator was tiny (Hardly fit me and my bag, while my my wife took the 5 stories of stairs as she felt it was too sketchy). Other then the condition of the room was quite dated and tiny, bathroom desperately in need of some updates, no accessible plug ins for charging devices.

Small but convenient hotel.

The room was small and needs to be redecorated. Previous attempts to refresh the room was done amateurishly - paint on door molding smeared on floor tiles and the caulking looked like cottage cheese. Location is very convenient - close to Luxembourg RER station and the Latin Quarter. There were lots of places to eat and drink in the area. Hotel staff was very friendly and was helpful in resolving booking issue.

Hotel close to Luxemburg Gardens

The hotel is very close to public transportation, bus and metro. Three blocks away from the Luxemburg Gardens (super nice) , so if you are traveling with kids this is ideal as there is a huge and nice playground inside the park (not free but cheap) and kids can play for hours there. There are good restaurants around too. Two nice ice cream parlors a block away. Also there is a place to do laundry 2.5 blocks away, opens at 9am and closes at 10pm. The room for me was a dissapointment. Small , Beds were uncomfortable, there was only one plug in the entire room, the hair dryer was useless and they will not give you shampoo unless you ask for it. The shower door was about to fall out. Also the hotel had no plug adaptors that you could borrow... Most of the stuff at the reception desk were really nice and helpful. They know were everything is and they have really good advise on basically everything.

Very disappointing!

We were unable to stay at Hotel Senlis, even though we had a reservation. We had booked a superior room. But when we checked in, they gave us a standard room which was genuinely awful! It was run down, grungy, and had broken bath tiles in the bathroom. When we complained that they had not given us the superior room we had booked, they explained that they had overbooked and couldn't give us that room until the next day. The difference between the superior rooms (which have been renovated) and the standard rooms (not renovated) is HUGE!! To say the least, this was an extremely disappointing start to our holiday in Paris! We ended up having to cancel our stay at Hotel Senlis, and scramble to find another hotel in a hurry. Although the gentleman at the front desk did try to help us find another place, we had to end up doing it on our own....very disappointing overall!

Nice staff, room needs updating and noise

The staff was very nice, but the room was tiny even by europe standards, the bathroom wasn't very clean (someone else's hair in the shower, paper on the floor in the bathroom) and there was a lot of noise outside my window. if I were a budget solo traveler and got a really good rate, I wouldn't mind it, maybe

Don't go for the classic room!

Our room looked NOTHING like the pictures on their website. Apparently "classic" means a room that has not been remodeled or upgraded since the hotel was built 100 years ago. Our room had ONE electrical outlet! It was nearly at floor level under the table. None in the bathroom. The lobby was nice and coffee was always available.

Location is great, but the hotel is not in great shape. Most horribly, my room reeked of sewage and was truly nasty. The lobby smelled like it a bit, and my room was right above the lobby. Not sure about the rest of the rooms.

Old, with small rooms, but affordable. Expedia should not scold me if this is all I have to say.
