A memorable stay for all the wrong reasons

Pros: Close to metro.
Cons: Customer service. Correspondence pre stay was misleading at best. A complaint was met with a smirk and a shrug. Very upset.
Location: Close to Metros. Lots of places to eat and drink locally. To the east is quite buzzy for younger people.
Wrote to the hotel to say this was a special treat for my partner's 'significant' birthday and that I wanted a room at the front with a view. They said they would make sure my stay was 'memorable', without actually saying I would get a room at the front. I upgraded to ensure I would. Well, it was certainly memorable! As we approached what was meant to be a lovely old hotel overlooking the boulevard, I realised it was the building covered in scaffolding. Disappointing doesn't cover it. The hotel's responce was to smirk and shrug. No apology. We spent the forst hour of our romantic break with workmen walking around outside the window. I'm so upset at the treatment I received by this hotel. Even if this had not happened, I don't understand how it get's such good reviews. It was ok. The room was clean and comfortable, but nothing special. The AC unit was quite noisy. The decor was starting to look tired. I didn't like that the 'sofa' was actually a 3rd bed. What I could see of the view wasn't that great. And it was overall much smaller than I expected fro the photos. The lounge area is really just a lobby area by the lift. Note that this is actually a Best Western hotel.

We are indeed very central (Bastille & République), where our customers can experience many restaurants and bars. Location, comfort and staff friendliness are probably the main reasons for our good ratings. I'm surprised that you felt that our staff was not friendly enough. Quality of service is our priority, I will investigate on what happened. We are sorry to learn that the scaffolding has affected your stay. It will not stay long. Please not that you have not been disturbed by the workers as we have an agreement with them. They start with noiseless tasks at 8.30am. Super Frühstücksbuffet mit guter Auswahl und sehr guter Qualität. Sehr freundliches Personal Leider sehr kalt im Zimmer. Die Fenster waren überhaupt nicht isoliert. Da die Tagestemperaturen waren unter 0 und im Zimmer waren es so ca. 17 Grad. Im Sommer wäre das Zimmer wahrscheinlich perfekt.

Siistit, hyvän kokoiset ja kivasti sisustetut huoneet. Henkilökunta olisi voinut olla hymyilevämpää ja kysellä vieraiden kuulumisia.Hinta-laatu suhde mielestäni hyvä Pariisiin.

Sehr freundliches, hilfsbereites Personal. Ruhige Zimmer gegen den Hinterhof. Zimmer mit Kühlschrank und Wasserkocher ausgestattet. Praktisches Badezimmer. Interessantes, sehr authentisches Quartier mit viel Grünfläche. Ideal, viele Sehenswürdigkeiten können gut zu Fuss ereicht werden. Bistros und kleine Läden in der Nähe.

Il a fait très froid dans la chambre malgré une Clim à 28 mais qui devait certainement être bloquée....car chambre très froide

Kleineres aber schönes Hotel

Das kleinere aber schöne Hotel liegt ganz nah an einer Metrostation. Man kann aber auch gut zu Fuss zu den nächstgelegenen Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten laufen. Sehr nettes und zuvorkommendes Personal. Wir würden wieder einmal kommen.
