Communication with the host was great. It was easy to access the keys, find the location and get into the room. That is about all that was great. It was like we walked into someone's current house and they were just randomly kicked out so we could stay. I joked that we were just staying at my uncle's Paris house. There was coffee left in the coffee pot, a partially eaten chocolate bar in the fridge. Pants...or shorts...I don't know...in the freezer with a few other things. Washed dishes were still in the dish rack. There wasn't any dish soap, it was hand soap...or maybe it was dish soap but it was labeled as hand soap. There was someone's toothbrush and used toothpastes in the bathroom. Towels were hung in there and appeared used, so I got new ones. I can go on, but you get the point. It was just renting a person's accommodations without making it for someone else. The only door that closed at all was the main door. The bathroom door has no knob, just a big taped up old box thing and the door closes to about an inch or more and then you just have to tell people to not come there if you are showering and need privacy. It is a very old building and it shows. It wasn't really a character house like I hoped. It was just uncomfortable and weird for our family of 4 to be there. It seemed like someone could come home any moment. It was fine in the end and served the purpose of only a sleeping location, but it was very strange.
