I knew that guaranteed check-in was 3:00 PM but I arrived earlier than expected (10:30 AM) and asked if any rooms were available. The front desk clerk said rather briskly that I wouldn't be able to check in until 3:00 PM. "Check-out isn't until noon, and then the rooms have to be cleaned." I said "I understand that but some guests check out early. If, as you say, Housekeeping personnel start at 900 AM, aren't they already cleaning rooms that have been vacated by guests who left early? Since I'm already here, couldn't I get into one of those rooms? She said - "You don't qualify for those rooms. You booked through an outside firm (Expedia). All of the people who booked directly with Hilton are ahead of you." I said - "But I'm Hilton Honors." She said that doesn't matter. You booked through Expedia." Without going thru the rest of the conversation, she made it clear that people who book through outside firms are "less than" her other guests. It wasn't just what she said. It was the way she said it. I've only booked a few hotel stays thru Expedia, and have been satisfied...until now. I didn't realize that booking thru an outside firm put me in a different class of guest. End of Story - I left the Hampton & checked into a nearby Best Western Plus...a beautiful hotel with professional, friendly front desk staff. And yes, I ate the double cost. It was worth it.

Elevators were dirty. Girl at desk for check in was sitting in the lobby drinking coffee with her back to the desk paying no attention to job. Mattresses were shot/worn out. Drain in shower and other areas were rusting, no bath tissue holder. TVs were not smart TVs and outdated. Breakfast was free and should have been free. Very limited choices, no oatmeal just grits. This is in NJ not Alabama. In need of major reno!!

Stay was great from checking in to checking out. Hotel was clean. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was great. Nice selection. Only thing I didn’t like was the bed. I woke up sore and uncomfortable. Other than that all was good.

No hot water. Toilet makes noise; Dixon does not drain. Elevator button works sometimes. No spray for waffle maker so waffle does not come out easily… after several attempts. Restocking of breakfast items is very slow. Person on duty taking their sweet time to restock anything. People make noise well into morning hours when everyone should be asleep. I’m sure staff can hear the people in the hall but they say nothing

The double queen bed room was okay.. matresses were okay. A lil saggy...could definitely use an upgrade. And our room did not have a microwave or mini fridge. I feel like. For a $150.00 room it could at the very least have a microwave in room...granted there was one down stairs in lobby. But noone wants to stager down to the lobby to heat up leftovers at 2am.. In a pinch it was fine...

The hotel is currently undergoing renovations. We were offered free earplugs. During my previous day, I was given a welcome bag with bottles of water; not this time and my room did not have a refrigerator. Breakfast started at 6 AM which was a plus. On my last visit they had breakfast to go bags which they did not have either. It was just an average stay.
