Loved our king room with the ocean view deck. It was warm outside so we needed to use the small fan and ceiling fan for our whole stay. The small TV was on its last legs. Dining on site was just ok. Good idea to bring snacks & drinks from home as there is a small fridge. The highlight on Pender was hiking Mount Norman.

This property has a beautiful waterfront location with a marina view that really sets the tone for a relaxing stay. The patio restaurant is a great spot for lunch or dinner, and there’s a cozy upstairs dining room for breakfast. Rooms in the lodge are on the smaller side, but comfortable and well-maintained, with lovely views. The main drawbacks were the service and parking. The front desk could have been warmer — a more welcoming first impression would go a long way. Service at the patio restaurant was mixed: our first server felt a bit brusque, but after moving tables for shade, the second staff member was attentive and accommodating. Parking is a challenge due to the hillside layout. It may not be ideal for guests with mobility concerns, as getting to and from the lot requires some effort. Overall, a charming property in a stunning setting, with just a few areas that could be refined to make the experience even better.

Its a beautiful spot and worth a trip. Just know things close early and be prepared as the restaurant is only open for breakfast and the pub closes at 8 weekdays and 9 on friday and Saturday.

Ok - but wouldn’t go back.

Checkin / checkout not super friendly- Live entertainment on Saturday which was nice - but that meant you couldn’t get in the restaurant….and there is nowhere else close by to eat. They don’t take reservations! IMO - they should limit the time for a seating if they are that busy. When we did get to have a meal - the Food was pretty good - and service was good. I was surprised there were no “lotions” in the room . And it seemed that more umbrellas at the pool would be good - and some on the patio for the lodge would be good - as there is no shade on the front patios. Not a problem for me - but most people would not enjoy it - and I rarely saw anyone on the upstairs decks. The location is not super convenient- u have to drive everywhere if u want to hike or Swim or have a meal Elsewhere

This resort is in dire need of updates. Finished in 2004, it probably hasn't had any work done since - which is a shame because the potential to be a top-notch resort again is there. Aside from the usual repairs, furniture, paint and equipment (an ice machine would be nice and for God's sake AIR CONDITIONING!!! - the rooms become unbearable in the afternoon). There appears to be management/staffing issues (ie. restaurant service options) and I feel for the employees there that are doing their best to provide good service, but I have to question whether neglect from ownership is the root cause? While we enjoyed our stay overall, I probably wouldn't come back until after the above issues had been addressed.

We’ve been here a couple of times before. The setting is absolutely gorgeous but the resort definitely needs a refresh in every way. Rooms needs to be air conditioned or have fans that work. The restaurants need to be open every day. The coffee shop needs to be open. How can you run a hotel when half your amenities are not available yet you still pay full price for the room. They were definitely understaffed like so many hotels all over. This could so easily by a 5star hotel with a little help.
