And for those seeking a bit of local history, you can even find the original jail cell preserved inside!

The place looked so cozy and like a very nice time with all the board games. It’s also in a great location, walking distance to the town. When we arrived, there was no running water, however the host was prompt to come and check things out as soon as possible, when they couldn’t get the water working (maybe frozen pipes?) they immediately found us and covered accommodations close by at a nice hotel on the lake. The host was so helpful and we were happy with how everything turned out and had a wonderful weekend.

Place was very clean, cozy and unique. Location was perfect and walking distance to everything that you need; Night life, restaurants and shopping. Lots of board games to entertain w a group. Could use coat rack for fall/winter stay. Only mirror was a bathroom mirror and no end tables to set anything on. Beds and couches were very comfortable. Loved this place and would love to come back in the summer. Little creepy that the doors could be see through with all the lights on from the outside.

Location was perfect! Less than a block from an amazing coffee place and many other restaurants were within 2 blocks. I would have given this place 5 stars if it had curtains or blinds to cover the fully glass doors. There wasn't any privacy as one of the doors overlooked the street. There was another glass door on the side of the building that overlooked an alleyway.

This has to be one of the BEST places we have ever stayed. Hands down. The property owner is absolutely friendly and helpful. The apartment itself is top notch. Perfect amount of space. The kitchen is super cute and fully furnished with anything you'll ever need. Absolutely loved the wall of board games. We took a couple of photos of the doggy/jail cell. We didn't bring any animals with us this trip, but may bring our dog the next trip. The outdoor patio was probably our favorite part about it. We spent most nights out there playing darts and relaxing. Perfect walking distance to breakfast, lunch, dinner and downtown Penn Yan. We will 100% be staying here again for our next visit to Penn Yan. Only suggestion I have would be to possibly put some pull down blinds on the two exterior doors. During the day, you can't see inside because of the privacy film, but at night, when the inside lights are on, anyone outside can see all the way through to the inside.

Overall, this was a really good stay. This is a spacious and pretty comfortable place. I appreciated the ability to unpack and spread out a bit during our 4-night stay. The kitchen is small, but there is a dining area outside the kitchen, so that is totally workable.Its convenience cannot be beat; it is walkable to the main drag in Penn Yan, as well as several things a bit more off the beaten path. We enjoyed the outside area. We threw darts a few times during our stay. The patio area is spacious and a nice place to hang out. Had we had a rainy day, there were lots of games, as well. A few things to know before you go:--There is no soap/shampoo/conditioner, so bring your own.--The pillows left a bit to be desired, so if you're driving and have the option, bring your own.--There was coffee in the kitchen but nothing else in terms of cooking staples. Dishes, etc. were all there, but no oil or any of that.A few things that would take this place from really good to really great:--More surfaces in the bathroom area. The sink is not enough space for everyone's toiletries. --That said, it would also work if there were a mirror in the section of the bathroom where the shelving was. Or mirrors in the bedrooms. The only usable mirror in the place is above the sink, which is next to the toilet. So, one cannot get themselves ready while someone else is in need of privacy. --Hand towels--Better pillowsOverall, this was a great stay. I'd stay again, and I recommend it.

The place is quite unique, very clean, close to everything in Penn Yan, and I would have given it five stars if there had been more of the amenities that usually come with a VRBO. There was no detergent for the dishwasher, no soap to use in the shower, no place to hang up clothes, and the pillows on the beds were just weird. Otherwise, we did enjoy our stay, and would recommend it, for its unique layout and convenient location.

Excellent location

This cute apartment is conveniently located right in town by the coffee shop, restaurants and shopping. The listing says sheets provided, the confirmation email says linens not provided and the owner confirmed we needed to bring our own linens but a hairdryer was provided. We flew in and made extra room for our linens and left our hairdryer at home only to find out all linens were provided but no hairdryer. We were told to go to back door and given the code, code wasn’t working because we were trying to get into someone else’s apartment at 10 pm!! Go to the front door!! Other than those couple things we really loved the place.

Great Stay!

Cute place. We stayed two nights, perfect location to explore the lakes and have great family time. The house has everything you need as far as appliances and convenience. The only downside is that is very bright during the night and morning. The windows and doors need drapes and the kitchen didn’t offer any coffee. The beds are doubles, no queens. Sofa bed was confortable but we couldn’t find the extra sheets. Bring your own salt, oil and coffee if you want to have breakfast there, otherwise there is a cute coffee shop and a dinner less than 2 Blocks away. Our dog enjoyes herself in the patio, and we used the games as well! Great stay overall.

Convenient and Fun

This property is in an old police station with the original cell still intact. The owners made the cell into a dog house. It’s fun for photo ops as well. There is a big wall of games to play. The place was very clean and spotless and the decor was modern. The location is smack in the middle of Penn Yan and convenient to shops and restaurants. The place could use some more amenities and more blinds on the windows/doors for privacy, but overall it is a good value and a nice place to stay.
