The area is a haven for wildlife, including red squirrels, hares, roe deer and many species of birds. There is a red squirrel box on the decking with food for the friendly squirrels to feast on.

This holiday lodge is situated centrally between Keswick, Penrith, Carlisle and Ullswater making it an ideal location for exploring the northern Lake District and Cumbria. The countryside surrounding the lodge is unspoilt, with Greystoke Forest on one side and stunning views to Blencathra on the other. Nearby are the charming villages of Greystoke, Caldbeck and Hesketh Newmarket with their own pubs and local shops. Shop, pub and restaurant 4 miles.
