Met by friendly and helpful reception staff. Room clean and lovely large bed.
The only downside for us was eating in the restaurant. Big prices for food which was bought in. We each had a starter at £8.95. I had creamed mushroom, two pieces of toasted bread with mushrooms in a congealed sauce. I expected a proper cream sauce at that price. I opted for ‘pie of the day’ which was chicken and ham. When it arrived it was a heated pie that you would buy from a bakers. At £17.95 I would have expected something better. When I asked the waiter about it I was told it’s what they get from the Mercury supplier! My husband had beetroot pasta dish, £17. Small portion - see in photo. I shared my chips
Avoid and head to one of the many lovely - and better priced restaurants in close vicinity!!
Staff very helpful close to amenities haven't eaten yet rooms clean no problems 😊 😀 😉

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Wouldn't rush back
The hotel was just ok. The room.was very tired looking and the bathroom tiles must have been painted years ago and the paint was flaking off very badly. The room was clean enough but a few hairs and dirty marks had been missed.
Had a lovely stay at this hotel for my dad’s 80th birthday. Good location for walking into town and staff were vert friendly and helpful. Looking to book again.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Decor was dated, I last visited this property in the early 1990's and little has changed. The sink in the bathroom was badly cracked and had had a poor repair. Carpets in the room and hallways was worn and threadbare in places. The meals were very good and always well prepared and the staff were all very polite and always provided excellent service. The hotel itself is a beautiful old mill building, but as stated, the only downside for us was that the dated, dirty decor and lack of adequate maintenance was a let down for what was an otherwise excellent stay.
Externally, lovely hotel. Rooms a bit dated with creaky floorboards but clean. Good value for money. Nice bar, very friendly staff on reception and in bar
The toilet was extremely dirty and the bath/shower literally smelt disgusting at first use.
Service was okay however once when I called the reception and asked if they could bring a knife and fork, the lady m refused and hanged the phone on me. The other days, they did do it, but this one day they didn’t…
Not to mention my room was not cleaned not even once even after requesting it to be done. For context, I was there for 5 nights
Lovely place, very central. Adapted room, very hot. Also, smelt of stale urine, although the room was very clean. Parked in 1 of only 2 disabled bays and in the morning had to ask reception to get a car moved (not disabled) from the bay next to ours as we couldn't get into our car. Bit disappointing.
Such a lovely stay, hotel slightly dated but charming and in a great location, rooms clean and comfortable, the staff make this place a bit more special ❤️ thank you

Liked: Room comfort
Stay was okay, breakfast was good, bed comfortable. Car parking was disappointing as there wasn't always a space.
