Little Mill House is one of the most beautiful English cottages I've ever stayed in, me and my wife stayed there for 3 nights and didn't want to leave. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a beautiful tranquil time away to stay here!
Absolutely stunning place to stay, very comfortable and amazing outlook. Serena was great to communicate with would most certainly recommend a stay you will never forget it.
Wonderful property, beautiful and relaxing. Serena was amazing and answered any query promptly and lovely about everything. Would throughly recommend a stay at this lovely home.
Wow! What a setting, the grounds are absolutely stunning! Serena is the most amazing host with little touches like fresh eggs and really great communication. Keeping warm was a challenge but that was more down to our difficulties keeping the room smoke free from the open fire. We loved the therapeutic sound of the water and beautiful bird song. If you appreciate nature and olde worlde life this is definitely the place to be, couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing break - and we live in the Scottish highlands! A real home from home.
The house and its extensive garden is a wonderful place to stay, particularly if you like peaceful rural locations and birdlife. The Vale of Pewsey with its lovely countryside, rivers, hillsides and the canal is a great place for walking and cycling with no shortage of places to eat.
The house was the perfect spot for us to celebrate Christmas, we were warm, very comfortable and able to enjoy the beauty of the area. The house was delightful and beautifully furnished.
amazing property, great location with so many places to visit in just a short drive. Although great to just relax in the garden and listen to the birds. Would definetly visit again
It is an amazing house. We appreciated the house with a great confort and the beautiful garden with the small river.Anyway It was a too short stay for us and we would love to come back in the future
We had the most lovely few days at Sharcott Mill. Serena was a pleasure to deal with and was immediately responsive to our questions. The house and grounds exceeded our expectations. The surrounding countryside is idyllic and we're grateful that this listing was available. We would return in a heartbeat!
Beautiful home with delightful gardens. We and the dogs felt very much at home. An ideal base to explore the county with many excellent dog walks in the area, including on the doorstep. The house is very well equipped. We wanted for nothing. And Serena was very helpful before and during our stay.
We wanted a special place to celebrate a special weekend and this home was picture perfect! Private, quiet, beautiful, unique and the grounds/garden/stream was magical and we were greeted by a small deer!
Serena is very friendly and helpful even when calling her after 10pm for help. Thank you and would love to visit again.
We had an incredible time in the Mill house. It was such a cozy and comfortable house with a huge garden where we saw deer and a couple of ponies. We cooked in the house every evening and bought fantastic produce in the local farm shops and towns. Couldn't have asked for a nicer week away. We'll be coming back next year for sure! Serena was also absolutely lovely and made sure we were having the best possible stay.
This stunning, historic home exceeded our expectations. There was plenty of comfortable seating for the 3 of us to relax in the morning and evening, and the kitchen had everything we needed. It rained quite a bit during our visit, but there were books to read, and the view of the stream and the little bridge in the garden was lovely in all weather. The whole place looks like a painting. The location was great for visiting Stonehenge and Avebury. There are several pubs and shops a short drive away. The host was very friendly and helpful. We all loved our stay and would certainly come again.
Beautiful traditional upscale home lovingly decorated with antiques, overstuffed chairs and sofas pillows artwork and loads of family photos and books. A truly stunning garden with a mill stream running through it, a Monet-worthy footbridge across is and a plethora of perennials artfully planted across the landscape. If you like sterile, this is not for you. If you want to sink into another world and be surrounded by a sense of being a houseguest of a gracious host, then do come and stay here. As visitors from the US with a too-large rental car, we found some of the single track roads hair raising, but managed to adjust. We had a fantastic time visiting many towns in the area and easily made it to Bath, Marlborough and Salisbury.
Gorgeous, large house, lovely grounds, terrific landlady. We did not twig, in advance, that this was actually somebody's (vacated) home, so we felt a little uncomfortable, at first, but it was such a comfortable house, we adapted quickly. We couldn't find the steak knives, but otherwise we found everything we needed in the kitchen. Would recommend, albeit it seemed slightly overpriced with only two available bedrooms. We had the relaxing holiday we were looking for.
My husband and I stayed at The Mill for a week just as lockdown restrictions were easing. It was a superb choice. The house was full of character. We loved coming downstairs to the warmth of the AGA in the morning. Watching the resident kingfisher over the mill stream was a treat and winding down by the log fire in the evening a great way to end the day.
Garden furniture on the patio meant that we could catch up with family and friends during these Covid times.
We didn’t have any major problems but Serena was very quick to respond when we had questions.
I can’t recommend this place highly enough if you like the peace of rural living.
