I stayed at AKA Rittenhouse and, unfortunately, the experience was disappointing overall. The room did not have curtains, so at night the street lighting outside fully illuminated the room, making it very difficult to sleep. Because the room was at street level, every noise could be heard clearly—people walking by and talking, cars passing, and trash trucks early in the morning. Getting a full night’s rest was nearly impossible. The heater in the room was poorly set up and did not function well. The elevator consistently smelled like fried food, and there was no true hotel lobby. The small lobby area that did exist also had a strong odor of fried food, which was unpleasant. That said, the hotel staff was excellent. The front desk personnel were professional, friendly, and very helpful. Unfortunately, while the service was great, the condition and setup of the hotel itself did not meet expectations.

We didn’t realize we had booked a Penthouse room. It was HUGE! And beautiful. Only strange thing was there was only one bathroom even though it’s a 2 bedroom “apartment “. We had a great time!

This extended stay property should not be considered a hotel. It’s literally falling apart. The ceiling mounted AC unit cover fell down almost on my wife’s head. The cover and the unit were filthy. They moved us to another room which had an extremely loud AC unit and the toilet was coming off the wall. The cabinets were starting to delaminate and the furniture was very cheap. Toilet room was tiny and the shower was next to the tv. No daily cleaning and the dark brown carpet hides the stains. The location is good but the hotel put a damper on our trip.

Absolutely loved our stay at this property! The room was gorgeous. Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Bar and restaurant downstairs have tasty options. The location is great with the Saturday market right across the street and walkable to everything downtown. Would definitely stay here again!

Exceptional service!

My husband and I had never stayed here before but it was in the right location for our overnight visit to the city. After booking, I called the hotel with some questions and the person i spoke with, Tina, could not have been nicer. She took the time to answer all my questions. Also, I requested a high floor and she said she'd do her best, and she did. We had a great room on the top floor and enjoyed sitting by the window at night and watching all the city lights. Additionally, from the moment we got there, the service was top notch. Josh and Juliette at the front desk were so helpful. They went of their way to make us feel welcome. We enjoyed chatting with them about our favorite city restaurants. We were celebrating our birthdays and when we got to our room, there was a birthday card and gift. How thoughtful. As for the room, the suite was spacious, clean and bright and had everything you need for a short stay. The rooms were comfortable too. The next day, we had more great service from Juliette. She went out of her way to help us once again. We can't say enough good things about the service we received from the friendly staff. We only chose the AKA due to it's proximity to Rittenhouse Square and the fact that our favorite Philly hotel had gotten so expensive, but we had such a lovely experience, we are are already planning our return trip. Thank you AKA for a wonderful weekend!
