Would not book again

While the property is very nice and in a great location, I was not given the double room that I booked on hotels.com. Instead they put us in a standard room with one queen bed. When I went back to the desk to ask the front desk person was not very accommodating and tried to act like I didn’t understand what I booked. I showed him the photo on hotels.com of the room showing two beds and my receipt which clearly said double queen room. He was not very friendly and told me he didn’t have any rooms with two beds . He put us in a tiny room with and queen and a pull out sofa bed which was terrible. It had a “mattress “ that was maybe three inches thick and extremely uncomfortable. I paid to have a comfortable bed to sleep in not a pull out sofa that I had to put the sheets on myself. We stayed in the room because we were from out of town and needed to sleep somewhere . When leaving the next day a room was being cleaned right next to the elevator and it was a double queen room which was clearly large and had two beds . The front desk guy really gaslighted me and acted like I was confused and that the hotel didn’t have rooms with two beds. And on top of that his attitude let me know he could have cared less to help me. I most definitely did not get what paid for. Far from it. Very disappointing.

This is a very small hotel. Small but nice. However, think about the square footage of the rooms on the listings. The rooms are VERY small. Everyone was very nice. The hotel was very clean. The parking is a bit of hike but they offer curbside drop off and pick up upon check-in and check-out. Very convenient to major historic attractions.

The location of the hotel is fantastic - heart of historical district, block from Independence Hall - across the street from American Rev. War Museum. Walkable to so many restaurants and sites. Hotel breakfast was great - plenty of options to fuel up. Hotel parking is a block away - no problem. Would stay here again if in the Philadelphia area.

Philly Locale

How do I begin to say “amazing”?! The location of this hotel is prime real estate in a large market. We splurged money-wise to stay here because we wanted to be able to walk the historic area. And we (2) did; clocking over 87000 steps in 3 days! This was an intentional trip to reconnect with the soul of our country: freedom! Philadelphia is a must visit for all patriots in fact and truth to come and learn. This is what America is and the promises it holds. The Independence Park hotel makes you feel like you stepped back in time with refinement and attention to detail of what great service looks like. From an early bag hold of our luggage to granting us access to parking ( we paid but it was worth it for the security and not having to try and find parking throughout the district). The breakfast was served on real plates with cutlery and a cloth napkin. Again, a lost art for most hotels! The room was well appointed and had ample outlets for our electronics! This was our first trip to Philadelphia but will not be our last and Independence will be our first choice in accommodations! Thank you to the staff for a memorable stay♥️

Great location near Independence Mall. You park your car in a parking garage a couple of blocks from the hotel, which requires a key card from the front desk. Staff is super accommodating about letting you hang onto the card after you check out if you’re sightseeing!
