This was a very good hotel. Consistent for Hampton Inn. However, outside our room on 4th floor, it consistently smelled of smoking.

Better choices for the $

This hotel has some years on it and looks the part. The maintenance at this location isn't kept up to date. The first thing that I noticed was that there was actual dirt on the floor of both elevators that were not in the best repair. The hallway of the floor where my room was located smelled of old cigarettes and air freshener, my room appeared to be clean, but the bed was not very comfortable (like it was just warn out), and half of the pillows smelled like someone's old dirty head. I wasn't provided a receipt as it was supposed to be emailed (they said), but I did not receive one in my email. I called the location and was placed on hold 3 times and told that since I booked with hotels.com that I need to get one from them. I have always been able to get one at the location whenever I have traveled prior since I pay at location. I must provide a paid receipt for by business expense reimbursement, and the ones from hotels.com show "paid at location" at the end. They then looked up by my credit card and name then said that they would send to my email... still waiting for that email - what a hassle!

Very Disappointed

When we checked in, we upgraded to a "suite." They only had 1 suite in the whole hotel. When we got to the suite, it was 2 rooms but was small. The bed was supposed to be a queen, but it was smaller than a queen. Instead of a closet, there was a shelf and hanging bar in the living area behind a curtain. And last, the furniture was very hard and uncomfortable. While the couch pulled out into a couch, there were no sheets or blankets for it. For what we paid to upgrade the room, we were extremely disappointed. Then when we wanted to check out, we could not get any type of refund. We did buy it as a no-refund by paying it all upfront. However, there could have been some type of compensation, even a small credit because it was not even close to being up to what we paid for the room. We like to travel, but we will not be staying at any Hampton Inn again.

The morning staff person Michael was very helpful and friendly. The staff in the evenings were unpleasant and unprofessional. The side door which was supposed to be locked for safety was wide open at all times. All of the odd numbered rooms were very noisy due to the expressway so all guests should be first offered an even side room first.

We were visiting the month before and the outside automatic door was stuck open. We came back and the door was still stuck open and we again froze eating breakfast with our coats on. I felt sorry for the employees who had to work in those conditions.
