Check-in was exhausting. Couldn’t find our reservations. Room was nice, bathroom gorgeous but water flowed under the glass shower door across the floor to the toilet area, so if you didn’t slip on the wet floor, you stepped in a puddle to use the toilet. Drank a bottle of water from fridge not realizing at that moment they were going to charge me for it. I walked three blocks to get a replacement and one for the road, left it in the fridge. They said wrong brand of water and charged me $1.80 for it and kept my bottle. A/C cooled the room after awhile, but never cooled the bath. Overall it’s a nice hotel, but they need to learn a bit more about hospitality and when to charge for something and when not to — small gestures go a long way, whether they’re good or bad.

The hotel offers clean and spacious rooms, in a very lively neighbourhood yet quiet, near shopping mall, bars and restaurants, as well as some sightseeing places. The staff are very friendly and helpful too.

Clean hotel, friendly staffs and great location. Walkable to kabko market, exercise park and Aeon1 mall. Next to bassac street with a lot of restaurants around. Just small advice after taking shower use the water hose to clean the shower area to avoid the bad smell.

Excellent Stay!

Metavarry was a great stay overall. The service is top-notch—special thanks to Moon at the front desk, who was super helpful and accommodating throughout my stay. The property is very clean yet manages to feel homely, which I really appreciated. The on-site restaurant is excellent. I’d highly recommend the fish and pasta, and even the burger was solid. The free breakfast was good—not the best I’ve ever had, but it definitely holds its own considering the price point of the hotel. One thing to note: with the hotel being so close to Bassac Lane, there’s a lot of nightlife noise that carries into the rooms at night. It wasn’t a deal breaker for me, but travelers should be aware this isn’t the quietest spot. All in all, great service, good food, and a comfortable stay—I’d happily return

The pool and the gym add a lot to the character of the hotel. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is good too. The rooms are decent and very clean. They are on the smaller side but good enough for a budget trip.

It’s in Bassac Lane, so the noise from local bars could be heard if you’re noise sensitive. However, the noise comes with the territory. Otherwise, it’s a great hotel overall.

Obviously like the hotel, since I extended my stay 2 more times. Very friendly staff, very nice pools (on the top and ground floors), good and reliable internet. Very good buffet breakfast. Convenient location, walking distance from many restaurants, Aeon Mall, etc. Definitely recommend and will stay again there.

This hotel is very close to the Main Street with the nightlife for westerners, so can be noisy although it didn’t affect our sleep. I did request quiet rooms and were given 8th and 9th floors which probably helped to reduce some of the noise. The staff were super friendly and welcoming when we arrived as well as every time we entered the lobby wishing us a good day. We had breakfast included which had a mixture of western and local cuisine. There are two pools but both a quite small and in bar areas which I found a little strange, we didn’t have time to use them. The hotel has a rooftop bar with views over the local area. Overall I would recommend this hotel, our room was quite small but it is a very tall, narrow hotel with one elevator which can be slow during busy periods. As well as being close to bars and restaurants it is only a 25 minute walk to the Royal Palace and 30 minute walk or short Tuk Tuk ride to Tuol Sleng Genocide Musuem. There were always Tuk tuks waiting outside. This hotel also has a spa with massage but there are cheaper massage places a few doors away too.

The Mettavary was very nice. We stayed in a good clean room with a comfortable bed and amazing AC system. I think 2 things keep me from giving a full rating: 1, the breakfast was a little underwhelming and 2, you could hear everything outside of your room. Including people cleaning the room across the hall from us which wasn't a very pleasant thing early in the morning while we were trying to rest. Other than that it was great.
