Lower standards than expected

Didn’t have the room available in a main building that was booked so upgraded supposedly to a ‘cottage’ and the far left of complex. Cottage was spacious but no privacy when curtains drawn as all windows overlooked and no ‘net’ inner curtain. Housekeeping was non existent for us as they had not arrived by 3pm and we wanted to nap. So do not disturb sign placed on door. Next day we asked for clean towels and water which was met by a why. We also asked to be serviced early as we are early risers but do like a nap in the afternoon and The room never got serviced after that which was disappointing. Pool area needs sweeping as litter built up for days and pool itself needs maintenance but that would mean closing it which I don’t think will happen. Breakfast ok but chaotic with too few staff clearing dirty tables leading to long wait for tables the staff did work hard though apart from the seater who was lazy Location good and quiet opposite beach and at edge of shops and restaurants.

Nice property very near Kamala Beach and the nearby road with many restaurants. Excellent location. Beautiful pool with nice pool bar and fairly good prices, especially for hotel bar, but closes earlier than pool. Many cheap restaurants and bars right nearby and walkable to several other roads and entertainment. Short walk to beach right across the street. Pool was clean and pretty. We stayed in a bungalow which is hot as AC cannot be left on while out of the room, but the AC does work well to cool down the bedroom area when sleeping at night. Once you figure out the shower's hot water, it is ok but does not always get hot easily so hard to figure out how to turn on initially. Our shower was extremely small and hard to figure out how to turn on without spraying the entire toilet area, so had to hold the shower head in our hand the entire time. Pretty property. They closely track the towels, but it is hard to get yours as that desk is not open as early or as late as the pool is open. Some of the staff was great and a few were rude. Not fancy, definitely adequate and loved the quiet location. The shower was the worst part. Friend had a different bungalow which was slightly better but still small bathroom. Overall decent value It was a 300-400 Baht taxi ride to the much larger, louder, and busier Patong Beach. It takes 20-25 minutes to get there. We prefer the Kamala beach which is terrific with rentable beach chairs and people who bring you drinks and food, very nice.

Staff was personable, super friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet has something for everyone. Good choice and good food. We very much enjoyed our stay at Princess Kamala. The only minor inconvenience was the fact that the in room safe was not bolted down. We felt it offered zero protection for our valuables.

Run down Beach Hotel

Nothing special about this hotel. It's old and run down. Beds are terrible, although the AC did work great! The only thing this hotel has going for it is the location. Its directly across the street from the beach and in the center of the beach town. So, there is very easy access to stores and restaurants. This is also one of those places that does not let you check in early even if the room is ready. I got thier at 2:25pm and said the room wouldn't be ready till 3pm. Then at 3pm about 40 people all went to the desk to get keys to check in, just stupid and crazy for no reason. Even with this being a great location, I would not stay again.

Our room was way in the back of the complex. Walking on the pool deck, although newly replaced, was unbelievably slippery! At night, ther was a step that was not lit and someone could really fall and hurt badly! The pool, although beautiful, was very unsafe too as there were jagged tiles and underwater steps to hit with your legs. Bathroom and light switches were very awkward! Staff was nice

Nice hotel

We had a bungalow with a nice view to the garden. The cleaning crew was very friendly and helpful especially FON the cleaning lady. The only annoying thing was the duplex, double bungalow with the wall and the door between with zero sound poofing. I could hear every word of my neighbor even the snoring and ... whatever.

Give this one a miss

Beware, the Junior Garden Villa room was nothing like the photos indicate. To put it bluntly, the villa was awful. It’s in desperate need of renovating. The living room had nowhere to sit, all you got was an oversized TV cabinet with a TV the size of a postage stamp. Had to drag the dirty old veranda chairs in to have somewhere to sit. The bathroom was dirty & tiny (could only fit one person), the toilet was in the shower, pipework was exposed & waste water from the adjoining cottage ran through this bathrooms floor waste pipe. No bedside lamp or switch for overhead lighting. A/C could only cool the bedroom & was as loud as a truck (needed earplugs in to sleep). Attached veranda was anything but appealing to sit on, was dirty (never got swept) & the view was of the neighbors bedroom window. Hotel states soundproof rooms, this is incorrect, you could hear every word from the adjoining villa & having 2 babies there screaming all night was enough to drive anyone mad. Asked reception on 3 separate occasions if they could put us in a different room, they did not want to accommodate this, instead told me to go to the website and book + pay for another room in the resort (despite the villa being more expensive than the standard rooms at the resort). Booking stated welcome drink, never got that however I did get skin rashes which cleared up a day after leaving the complex. Location is great (its not beachside though), pools are ok, but in need of attention. Its expensive for a dump

Beach access was good but despite it's name it is not a beachfront hotel, the beach is located across a road and a short walk away. Hotel was nice outside, pot luck on the rooms, our first room had an electricity pylon outside, we complained and our second room had five air conditioning units outside which we could hear through the wall. The breakfast was okay, good selection but not great. For the price we paid we expected much more.

Avoid this hotel

Had water running through downlights, creating a scary electrocution hazard and also forming large puddles on tiled floor which resulted in slipping and falling over. Informed staff who had zero interest in my condition as a result from fall but only trying to sort out the water/electricity issue. Was told its nothing to worry about and will be fixed in an hour, we returned to room only for it to happen again and worse. We were then transferred to the another much inferior room to the one we paid for. Every balcony and patio that we were located next to seemed to be another tourist smoking weed straight into our rooms (Also smoking at swim up pool bar!) This is not a place for kids. We had to leave as my 9yo daughter was terrified to sleep there after seeing me fall in water created by leaking downlights and the fear of electrocution. The staff and hotel manager were inept and quite hilarious in their responses. It was like Fawlty Towers!

The property is on the older side but that’s why it is so spacious. The facilities are well maintained and the rooms are very clean. The main reason I gave it 5 stars is that the staff is exceptional. They go out of their way to make sure you have a wonderful stay.

Hotel front is what you see in photos, overlooking a car park but only couple of minutes walk to beach. Paid for the nice pool view but was on the 4th floor corner room with very limited pool view. Asked to move but just told the usual story of we are full. Got bitten to bits in the hotel room. In fact think it from the bed. by the second night we were covered in bites. After buying insect repellent (used spray in the bed) and plug inns for room saw an improvement by 4th night. Breakfast Fresh made omelettes good, bacon depends what time you are arrive at 7am really tough but 9.30 ok. But a good verity of food though. Don’t think I would stay again. Kamila beach lovely but not much to do.
