Staff was friendly. Room was clean. I came for a Pirates game, and it was a relatively short walk to the ballpark. Would stay again for a game.

Not great area if you’re bringing dogs

The hotel was pretty outdated. However, our room was ice cold and the shower had the best water pressure I’ve seen in a long time. What stunk was that none of the ice machines worked. We brought our dogs and struggled to find places for them to go potty nearby. There are 2 little parks but they close at 5pm. The nicer, bigger park across from the hotel is filled with homeless and they have a dog that roams around unleashed and barks all night. So we couldn’t even use that park because we were very nervous about the dog not on a leash.

The property is well located with easy access to transportation to the stadiums area. he hotel room furniture is old, and some how stiky to the touch. Carpet was ripped. The mattresses were too soft for my taste, and were already deformed, with a noticeable dip in the middle section. The first day no one came to do the room, and I have to call the front desk to have it done and get clean towels. The second day the room was done, but we get no water bottles. I call again to the front desk to get them, but they never came. I went down to the front desk to get the water, and I was told in some rude manner that the hotel only provide water bottles the first night, the rest of the time, I will need to buy my own or take the tap water, which by the way was coming out brown due to some repairs being done to the plumming.

It was a good stay and I liked how it was smoke free. The in room service wasn’t available, we would always call but no one ever picked up. On the last morning , of Labor Day, breakfast took forever to receive our order . Almost 45 min. But I only saw one waiter . Must have been understaffed because it was only our table and another table or two there . Also elavtors stopped working that same day , 2 out of the 4 elevators . I was disappointed with the pool not being an option . It was so cold in that room and the water was freezing . After jumping in , I found no way of warming being able to warm up . My 4 year old daughter came out of the water with blue lips and shivering . I was hoping it would be heated or at least keep the room hot somehow .

Loved the convenience of the parking structure. Yes it’s an extra charge but it beats getting a tix or your car towed because finding parking in the street sucks. Staff was super friendly and hotel was decently clean. It’s an older hotel so it was what I expected. The view of the steel plaza from the room was very pretty…

We stayed three nights specifically to be in the downtown area as tourists. My son has stayed at this hotel several times on business and recommended it, there is a T stop right across the street. We left our car parked in the hotel garage and walked, used the T, and the bus out to the Museum of Natural History. Very easy to use public transportation in Pittsburgh. Rooms are being renovated, we had a not yet renovated room and it was fine. The coffee situation in the hotel is quirky, you can buy coffee at the 7 11 conveniently accessed from the hotel lobby, buy it in the hotel restaurant for a high price for shockingly bad coffee unless you like reheated airline coffee, cross the street to Starbucks in the PPG building, or make it in your room... actually very decent they have pods and bottled water. However, they don't have complimentary high quality coffee or filtered water available to guests in the lobby as has become customary at many hotels. That's really my only quibble. If you want safe, clean, comfortable, convenient with fitness room, pool, this is your hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I will stay here again.
