Traveled with spouse and two small kids. We are an LGBTQ family. I will admit we usually stay in nice beach front hotels but this was a very last minute 3 day trip and we decided to keep it very simple. We second guessed if we made a mistake by booking this hotel as soon as we walked in, but we took deep breaths, humbled down, and went to Walmart.
Pros:
The place is antique but very clean.
Owners were very friendly and available.
The place felt safe.
Close to everything: beach, restaurants, shops.
Working fan and A/C.
Our room had a mini fridge and some kitchen ware.
Cons:
It did not include amenities like shampoo, lotion, wash cloths, floor towel, iron, hair dryer. Bathroom was very tiny.
Kitchenette did not include microwave or coffee maker. Some kitchen pots/pans were very rundown. No knife, only butter knives.
Honestly I could deal with all the above, the worst part and reason won’t come back is the music next door. But that is not the hotels fault. The restaurant next door has a live band every day until 1am (alternative rock). In general, all music on 5th stopped at 2am. But the one live band next door was the worst. We could sleep through all the other music. We had to adjust our bed time to a later time and sleep in, in the morning. Mornings were quiet.
This would be a good hotel for people who are planning to stay up late.
The owners were very welcoming and wish them well on their business.
