Got to hotel after 12 hour flight and the reservation wasn't there. It had been "upgraded" and moved to a different hotel. This was never communicated and it would have not been accepted as the hotel was chosen specifically for the location. The new hotel was 4 blocks away; we had suitcases and no offer to pay a taxi. No compensation offered. The upgraded solution was horrible. Room located next to the hotel laundry, so noisy. Then loud music from nearby pubs, that's why we didn't want to stay in that area. Thin windows and door let through all chi chat from people staying in the pool area until late. Hotel was old, need of a lot of maintenance. Coffee maker in the room is for filtered coffee. Filters not provided and no coffee.so are you expected to buy a pack of filters for one night? Don't stay at either hotels. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Room was large and very clean. Staff were always as helpful as they could be with the language barriers from Spanish to English. Any requests were dealt with quickly. My only complaint was the noise from the restaurant across from my room. In the late evening, lots of banging during cleanup. Also the freezer door banging shut every few minutes. As well, inconsiderate guests that come back late at night yelling and slamming doors. Not hotel's fault, but maybe post a note near front desk or in rooms to remind guests to be quieter after 11. Hotel is super close to beach and 5th ave and if you go in the opposite direction, lots of cheaper local restaurants and Walmart within 15 minute walk.

Friendly and helpful staff. Room has an authentic Mexican appeal, but it feels small and there's not a single chair for sitting. Strong AC and fan. Tiny bathroom and the toilet seat doesn't stay up. Good for a short stay.
