Logempré Gatehouse - 23 ha of parkland, river & padel

Settle into the caretaker's house at Château de Logempré! The cottage is located at the entrance to the castle park, in the Andelle Valley, 30 minutes from Rouen, 1 hour 15 minutes from Paris and the coast.
It sleeps 8. The park (23 ha), crossed by the Andelle, is open to you. You can see deer there. You have free access to the padel court. The castle, a jewel of the 15th century, is in ruins. Staying in the caretaker's house means contributing to its rescue!

The space
The cottage sleeps 8. It has two levels:

- On the ground floor: a living room/dining room, an open kitchen, 1 bedroom with 1 double bed 160 x 200 cm, 1 bathroom, 1 toilet
- On the 1st floor: a bedroom with 1 double bed 160 x 200 cm, a bedroom with 2 single beds 90 x 200 cm or 1 double bed 180 x 200, and 1 bunk bed 90 x 190 cm (sleeps 2)

The house has a terrace, enclosed garden and parking for up to 3 cars.

We provide on request: baby bathtub, baby bed, highchair.

Regarding linen:
Dish towels and bath mats are provided.

Possibility to rent bed linen and towels, payment on site.
- Bedding kits at 10 EUR/single bed, 20 EUR/double bed (in this case, the beds are made upon arrival)
- Bath towel kit: 5 EUR/person

You can stroll in the 20 ha of the castle park. The park is a real green setting, with its century-old trees and river. Here you can observe many birds and come across deer walking around.

If you are a fly fisherman, you can access the prestigious Parcours de l'Andelle, in compliance with the regulations in force.

If you are a paddle tennis enthusiast, you can practice on our outdoor paddle tennis court. We can lend you rackets.

And to stay connected to the rest of the world, fiber is installed!

Warning: the park is crossed by the Andelle, whose banks are accessible and unsecured. The walk is therefore carried out under your own responsibility and the supervision of children is imperative. For detailed conditions, see "additional rules" in the house rules.

Guest access
Access is from the D321 departmental road through the main entrance of the Domaine de Logempré.
Go 100m into the park and you will see the house parking lot on your left. The house is easily visible from the road.

Other things to note
Check-in is from 2pm and checkout is on the last day no later than 10 am. However, you can stay on site and leave in the afternoon if this is compatible with the arrival of the next ones.

Convenient:
Within 1 km: a convenience store, 2 bakeries, 1 pizzeria, and a supermarket 4 minutes away by car.

Tours & Activities:
Ideally located in the heart of the Andelle Valley, the Domaine de Logempré is a prime base for discovering authentic Normandy.

Just a few minutes away, don't miss Lyons-la-Forêt, ranked among the most beautiful villages in France, with its covered market, half-timbered houses, restaurants and magnificent state forest ideal for walking or cycling. Explore Château-Gaillard in Les Andelys and stroll along the Seine.

Art lovers can visit Giverny and the famous gardens of Claude Monet, a must-see less than an hour from the estate.

For outdoor activities, the Léry-Poses leisure center offers swimming, water sports, water ski lift, golf, walking or family activities in an exceptional natural environment. Children will enjoy the Biotropica wildlife park.

The Andelle Valley is also full of cultural treasures: discover the Abbey of Fontaine-Guérard, the Abbey of Mortemer, the Châteaux of Bonnemare, Vascoeuil, and Martainville, or the former Levavasseur Spinning Mill, an impressive 19th-century industrial site often called the "industrial cathedral" of Normandy.

Looking for an urban getaway? Rouen and its historic center can be reached in about 30 minutes. Paris is accessible in about 1 hour and 15 minutes, even allowing for a day of sightseeing or shopping, as is the Palace of Versailles.

And for a day in the great outdoors, the Normandy beaches and the Côte d'Albâtre are accessible in about 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes: the opportunity to discover Étretat, Veules-les-Roses, or the Normandy seaside resorts.

Whether you're a lover of heritage, nature, sports, or simply relaxation, the region offers many opportunities to plan a stay at your own pace.

Gaurds house

The house being rented is the gaurds house next to the road. The yard is fully enclosed and gated. Our family 16 and 19 year olds really enjoyed this property. They got their own rooms with friends. They played pickel ball. We walked to the bakery. We saw fawns in the morning by the castle. The castle is needing renovations to the point that it is condemned. In addition there is a river and a mout on the property. So your children either need to be closely supervised or old enough to make good choices to be safe. I highly recommend staying here as these funds go directly to helping perserve a wonderful piece of french history.I only wished that linens and towel fees were included in the listing. I have travelled enough to know that in france these basics are always extra up charges. There were coffee pods avaliable but no sugar or creamer.
The wildlife that we observed
Guards house. It is super clean with basics of what you need. Inexpensively furnished. Modern with books. Only has one mirror in the bathroom. No other rooms have any.
Seating area to view the castle which is quite and surreal
The castle is lighted at night and has a water filled operational mout surrounding it. No fencing along the edges.
