This was not a pleasant stay, and honestly not the type of hotel you intentionally book—it feels more like a place you end up at after a long drive with no other options. I checked in overnight and was greeted by an unfriendly staff member who made me feel unwelcome right away. The hotel itself is dark, dingy, and clearly in desperate need of a renovation. Thankfully, I did encounter two bright spots during my stay. The young lady taking care of the rooms was extremely friendly, courteous, and caring. In the morning, I was also greeted by another young lady who was very pleasant and professional. Without these two employees, my rating would have been even lower. Overall, this was just not a good experience, and I was relieved that I was only staying for two nights. I expect more from a Best Western, and the corporate team should absolutely come and take a serious look at this location.

To begin the check-in front desk is a mile from the property. The outside door card key lock was not operational and it appears it has been for quite sometime. When your key doesn’t work, you have to drive a mile to the front desk to have them reactivated. If you are desperate for a room, this is your place.

For the price it was ok. The room/ hallway had a weird smell, it felt very moist in the room, and there was rust in the bathtub. The bed was comfy, I wish they had normal size pillows, but overall decent.

We went to check into the hotel and we weren't told about the holding fee on our card. I only had cash on me and they couldn't take that. The service was VERY slow, took a good 20 min to a half hour to be checked in. When we got checked in, they sent us to another building that did NOT have the pool. (The only reason I booked with this hotel was so the kids I brought could swim when we got there). When we went to the building we were staying in, we couldn't figure out the key cards, they were not working with the door to get in. Overall, I was very frustrated and annoyed. I think they should've told us about the fee and the fact that the pool was at a different location from the room we were staying at. They definitely could've been faster with service (I had kids in the car waiting) and they could've explained the keycards and how they worked.

Quiet Stay with a Scenic View, but Some Wear Shows

The hotel is very quiet, both in terms of the rooms and the surrounding area—perfect for a peaceful getaway. The riverside view is lovely and adds a relaxing touch to the stay. While the rooms have been updated, the property is beginning to show its age. The floors, bed, and desk were clean, but a few maintenance issues stood out. The bathtub had some rust, and there were a few broken ceramic tiles on the bathroom floor. A deep spring cleaning would help—light switches were sticky, and the tops of the baseboards were dusty. Overall, it’s a tranquil spot with potential, but some attention to detail would go a long way.
