About this property
Entire place
You'll have the entire apartment to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.
Bright Studio Apartment - Food Carts & Local Shops
Summary:
My apartment is in the heart of Portland’s eclectic Hawthorne District, steps from top restaurants, cafés, bookstores, brewpubs, distilleries, and shops. Essential services, from banks to massage therapists, are nearby. Just a mile from downtown, you can explore by bike, foot, or bus. The sleek, European-inspired interiors feature high-end finishes for comfort and style. Note that there may be noise from neighbors; we’re happy to provide earplugs and a noise machine!
The Space:
The exterior of the building is a standout amidst the city’s uniform structures, featuring rusted metal siding, painted stucco panels, and black, burned Japanese Shou Sugi Ban wood. This distinctive look will catch the eye of anyone traveling along Hawthorne Boulevard. Nestled between the vibrant commercial hub of Hawthorne and the leafy side streets filled with residential architectural masterpieces from the past 120 years, the location offers the best of both worlds.
The interiors are designed to exude a sleek, soothing European feel, incorporating the highest-grade surfaces and finishes. Enjoy the comfort of mini-split heating and cooling, stainless steel appliances, 9-foot ceilings, and huge windows that flood the space with natural light. The cabinetry is stunning, complemented by glittering quartz countertops, creating a luxurious living environment.
Thank you for considering our home, we look forward to welcoming you!
Guest Access:
You will have access to my studio apartment on the first floor!
The Neighborhood:
Commonly known as “Foodie Row,” the Hawthorne/Buckman District puts you within walking distance of a wide variety of top-notch local flavors, with no chain restaurants in sight! Make new friends over vegan poutine fries and grilled PB&Js at the Cartopia food cart pod, get messy with wings right around the corner at Fire on the Mountain, share a pie at Apizza Scholls (consistently voted Portland’s favorite pizza), or opt for a fancy night out at Castagna—all within a 1.5-mile stretch.
Portland isn't just for foodies; the vibrant indie spirit of Hawthorne is alive with plenty of made-in-Oregon shops and boutiques to explore. Catch a movie at the Bagdad Theater and Pub, a revamped 1920s theater turned view-and-brew venue serving local McMenamins food and microbrews. If bar hopping through neighborhoods isn’t your idea of recreation, head up to Mt. Tabor, a 196-acre city park atop a dormant volcano vent, where you’ll find miles of hiking trails and incredible panoramic views of the city.
Getting Around:
This prime location offers a variety of convenient transportation options to help you explore the city with ease. The neighborhood is highly walkable, with a walk score of 92, and you’ll find a wide range of dining, shopping, and entertainment options just a short stroll away. Enjoy a leisurely walk to nearby cafes, restaurants, boutique shops, and parks that capture the unique charm of Portland. The city is renowned for its bike-friendly infrastructure, with a bike score of 98, featuring numerous bike lanes and the BIKETOWN bike share program, with bike racks nearby for secure parking, making it easy to explore on two wheels.
TriMet, Portland’s public transit system, is an excellent way to get around. The #14 bus line runs along SE Hawthorne Blvd, just a short walk from the apartment, providing convenient access to downtown Portland and other key areas. Additionally, the nearby Portland Streetcar offers another efficient option for reaching different parts of the city. Rideshare services like Uber and Lyft are readily available in the area, offering a convenient way to travel further afield or when you’re in a hurry. Traditional taxis can also be hailed or scheduled in advance.
If you have a car, on-street parking is available, though it may be limited during peak hours. Be sure to check the parking signs for any restrictions. For longer stays or guaranteed spots, there are nearby parking garages and lots that offer hourly or daily rates. Portland also has several car-sharing services, such as Zipcar and Getaround, providing the flexibility of a rental car without the need for traditional rental agencies. With these transportation options, you'll find it easy to navigate Portland and enjoy all the city has to offer. Enjoy your stay and happy exploring!
Interaction with Guests:
