Hummingbird Cottage - Cozy 1 Bedroom Cottage in Portland

Experience beautiful Portland from the comfort from your private sanctuary - our cozy guest cottage -located in the fenced backyard of my home. This peaceful retreat has a calm and relaxing vibe, conveniently located in SW Portland and in walking distance to coffee, quaint shops, and dining in the heart of Multnomah Village. Whether you're visiting friends and family or here to explore this corner of Oregon, this is the perfect place for a couple or solo traveler to recharge after a busy day!

The space:

The cottage is located in the private, fenced backyard of my home, with a garden view. It has its own porch with a bistro table and chairs, and a covered patio that overlooks the backyard. Enjoy your morning coffee on the covered patio (patio blankets are stored in the coffee table for those chilly mornings and evenings).

The cottage has a queen sized bed, small table with two chairs and a garment rack for hanging your coat and a few articles of clothing. I encourage guests to stow their luggage in the rolling bins under the bed.

There is a coffee station with a coffee maker (Keurig mini), electric kettle, microwave, mini-fridge, and an assortment of teas and coffee (K-cups). Note that it isn't suitable for cooking (there is a microwave).

There is a mini-split for heating/cooling, a cozy electric fireplace and a wall-mounted tv.

It’s lovely to step out of the shower onto the heated tile bathroom floor. Please use vent fan while showering, thanks.

Walkable to Trimet bus stops (.5 mi); coffee, pubs, restaurants (Multnomah Village is .7 mi); and convenient to downtown (5 mi), OHSU (2 mi).

There is plenty of street parking. Bus stops are 10 minutes away, and Multnomah Village is an easy walk through Scht Wiwnu Park and neighborhood streets.

Guest access:

Entry is self check-in (smart lock/keypad).

Follow the brick/paved concrete path down the left side of our house (please be respectful of the neighbors!). 
Please note that the cottage is accessed by a sloped path and steps that make it unsuitable for individuals with limited mobility.

The path is well lit for night-time arrivals.

The cottage has a smart lock/keypad and we will message you the code on the day of your arrival. Please be aware that the lock will be programmed to accept your code from your check-in time to your check-out time.

Other things to note:

☆ No smoking of ANY kind anywhere inside or on the property/premises.

☆ No events/parties. No commercial photography without out prior written consent.

☆ Please respect quiet hours from 9:00pm - 8:00am.

☆ No Pets, we want to keep this rental allergen free.

☆ The TV is an Amazon Fire TV. You need to sign in with your Amazon account to use it.

☆ Please remove your shoes indoors!

☆ There is an extra blanket (as well as space to stow your bags) in the rolling storage bins under the bed.

☆ Please do not leave any food out that could attract uninvited pests.

☆ The driveway is not available for parking; there is ample parking on the street.

☆ Do not flush anything but toilet paper. Anything else: can damage the pump; cause a back up; and may result in additional cleaning and repair fees.

☆ We are not able to accommodate the charging of electric vehicles.

☆ The cottage is small and only suitable for 2 people. It is not suitable for children.

☆ Tiny sugar ants show up in the cottage now and then. If I’ve noticed ants in the cottage, I will put down a Terro trap. It’s non-toxic and effective.

☆ Portland City Code requires that we keep a log with the Name, Address and Vehicle Information for ALL guests. Please help us stay in compliance and provide this information with your confirmed booking.
