Worst of experiences in Porto. Had a dental emergency so I needed to extend my stay by one day. I looked on the Hotels.com app and it was €88/night. I attempted to reach out to the hotel through the app to see if they could make the accommodation so that they would block out my room from room service and not book a new room. This was my mistake because I waited until I returned to the hotel(20 min later) to make the accommodation of my extended stay. The hotel staff were able to make the accommodation for an addition €40/night. I said that I would just book through the app if it was that much of an increase. When I pulled up the app again, the price available was now also €40 more. I begrudgingly paid the increase while vocalizing the radical price change in such a short amount of time. No one on the front desk staff offered a discount or price match or any other adjustment, but did charge me for the city tax for two people for the previous three night and the additional night though I had already paid for one foe the first three nights on checkin(€18 extra, 6€/day), so the price increased again. I went to my room, booked a different hotel with more amenities for the same price of the new charge at this hotel. The hotel finally responded the following day saying they offered a 10% discount and I had rejected that offer. The staff responded indignantly that there was nothing they could do about the price of the room.
