Where to start with this one.Something was wrong right away when we checked in because the hosts were on property. Turns out they live at the asset and share part of the house. We could have lived with this, but we are a family with a baby and elderly grandparents. We weren’t looking for a party house which this definitely is. There was no laundry (despite advertised; big deal w our baby). They presented us with a sink as if we would be washing our clothes by hand. Again, very weird. Then the worse started to happen. The house would lose electricity at random times. The food would spoil in the fridge. Eating dinner in the dark or flickering lights became common. I never took a warm shower in a week. My elderly mother couldn’t sleep because it was so hot. My brother chose to sleep in a chair in the living room where there was a working AC rather than sleep in his room. What made thing worse is the owners treated us as if this was totally normal and we shouldn’t be complaining. For the record, the cost of one night would have enough to pay for a generator. I am Brazilian and rent homes across Brazil all the time and have never experienced such a precarious situation. We knew other people in the area who never experienced these so-called “black outs”. Again, if we had signed up for a party house then we wouldn’t have cared so much but I had a 10 month baby and 75 year old parents. I hated my vacation. Save yourself the trouble and run away from this house.
