This property was fine for an over night stay on a long road trip with our small dog. Everything seemed clean enough and staff were fine. There was a sense that their usual clientele were a bit rough, necessitating talking to the receptionist through a re-inforced window. There were a few dodgy characters in the parking lot too, that made you a little uneasy to leave items in our car. BUT ultimately we slept peacefully, and everything was fine and it was very affordable

We didn't expect a "luxury" stay given the price and location. To their credit, the room was clean but in serious need of an upgrade/renovation. The vinyl floors were buckled, the bed linens appeared to be clean but were stained in places, there was what appeared to be some sort of overspray on the cabinetry/drawers. The bathroom was clean but there was very little hand soap in the dispenser. What little interaction we had with staff was pleasant, check in and check out was fine. As stated, we weren't expecting luxury accommodations, just a simple overnight stay at a reasonable price. This property met that criteria although with some rough edges. Based on our experience, we're not likely to use this motel again.

Property is still in good condition after renovations a few years' ago, staff is quite friendly and helpful. Location was very acceptable- only a half mile from bus and ferry stops into Norfolk etc, with numerous fast food outlets and a large convenience store within a short walking distance. Hotel is generally quiet as is the neighborhood. Lots of incredible historic homes and churches nearby to admire. Room had all the items I needed to feel at home- microwave and mini-fridge.

She was saying “I hope you have a reservation because it was not check in time yet.” Even though it was after 3 pm And it was our second time coming to coming that day. Friendly Staff

The hotel staff were extremely helpful, Jay and Avi were very friendly which made our stay a pleasant one. The pet policy at Red roof inn is awesome when you have more than one pet. We definitely had a pleasant experience.

The family who seems to own/run the place seem nice enough; friendly people. I would ask them to tone down the fragrance that permeates the entire hotel. It's a nice enough smell... up to a point. Also, at night, the area around the hotel is very poorly lit. Feels unsafe.

Nice staff/ poor stay

The bath tub was filthy looking. There was hair in the small hole( overflow opening) in the sink. The soap and shampoo dispensers were not full and seemed cheap. Therefore, you had to be careful you wouldn’t break it or knock it off the wall. There was free coffee but no continental breakfast. The staff were pleasant and accommodating as possible. Not enough towels or washcloths despite my room being listed for 3 persons.

This property is run down and filled with drugs. It’s not a safe place for kids to be at all. There was poo smeared on the bathroom walls.
