Relax by the Fireplace
When it’s time to slow down, settle in and relax by the fireplace. There is something special about ending a Kentucky day with a warm fire, comfortable surroundings, and the people you enjoy most.
Curl up with a book, enjoy a cup of coffee, share stories from your Bourbon Trail adventures, or gather together for a quiet evening. During the cooler months, the fireplace adds an especially cozy touch to your stay and makes MacAttie Acres feel like a true country retreat.
Two Covered Decks for Relaxing
Step outside and enjoy the peaceful farm setting from two covered decks.
Start your morning outside with a cup of coffee while listening to the sounds of the countryside. Spend a lazy afternoon enjoying the fresh air, or wind down in the evening while taking in the quiet surroundings.
Because the decks are covered, they provide a wonderful place to enjoy the outdoors even when you want a little shade or shelter.
There is no need to rush at MacAttie Acres. Sit awhile, talk, laugh, watch the farm, and enjoy having time together.
Take a Hike Around the Farm
Bring comfortable shoes because you’ll want to spend some time exploring!
Guests can enjoy hiking around the farm, taking in the natural beauty of the property and experiencing a side of Kentucky you simply don’t get from a hotel.
Walk through the countryside, enjoy the changing scenery, watch for wildlife, take photos, and appreciate the peacefulness of being surrounded by nature.
A morning or evening walk around the farm can be one of the simplest—and most memorable—parts of your stay.
Meet the Horses
What’s a Kentucky farm experience without horses?
The horses at MacAttie Acres are part of what makes staying here so special. Guests can enjoy seeing the horses on the farm and, when appropriate, petting them from outside their paddocks.
For everyone’s safety, guests should never enter the horse paddocks, open gates, or feed the horses. Children should always be supervised around the horses, and interaction with the animals is at your own risk.
Whether you’re a lifelong horse lover or your children are seeing farm horses up close for the first time, watching them in the pasture adds something uniquely Kentucky to your stay.
Game Night at MacAttie Acres
Vacations are about spending time together, and sometimes the best entertainment doesn’t require leaving the house.
MacAttie Acres includes board games and yard games for guests to enjoy. Challenge the family to a board game, organize a little friendly competition outside, or let the kids play while the adults relax nearby.
The game room provides another gathering space where guests can hang out, visit, play, and enjoy a slower pace.
These are the evenings we love—the ones filled with laughter, friendly competition, and conversations that continue long after the game is over.
A Great Home Base for Lexington & Louisville
MacAttie Acres offers a peaceful farm setting without making you feel disconnected from everything Kentucky has to offer.
With I-64 conveniently nearby, guests have great access to both Lexington and Louisville, making day trips easy.
Head toward Lexington to experience Kentucky horse country, dining, shopping, and attractions, or travel toward Louisville for even more restaurants, entertainment, bourbon experiences, and sightseeing.
You can spend the day exploring and still come home to the quiet of the countryside.
Perfect for Families & Groups
MacAttie Acres is especially well suited for groups who want more than simply a place to sleep.
It’s a place to spend time together.
Bring the grandparents, children, cousins, or a group of friends. Plan a Bourbon Trail getaway. Celebrate a birthday or special occasion. Meet up with friends you haven’t seen in a while. Or simply choose a weekend when everyone can put away the busy schedules and reconnect.
With sleeping accommodations for up to 15, a large kitchen, multiple gathering areas, covered outdoor spaces, games, farm acreage, and plenty to explore nearby, your group can enjoy time together without feeling like everyone has to do the same thing.
Some guests may want to hike around the farm while others relax on the deck. Some may head out for a day of bourbon tours while others enjoy a quiet afternoon at the house. At night, everyone can come back together for dinner, games, conversation, and relaxation.
