Good experience for a family with very young kids. At first glance on arrival, there was a strong push towards other sales right after check-in. It wasn't something that I was surprised by, however it was frustrating to experience it after a tiring journey for a family with littles, prior to arriving there. Beyond that the experience was enjoyable. Property is well maintained. This is not a property with an extended beach front, and what little beach there is , is continuously being maintained by hardworking staff. Staff are usually great at providing or pointing to the right service or help needed.. Dining options were excellent, however we kept running into little issues like not being able to find plates, or specific cutlery missing to actually eat some of the foods available. Several on site restaurants other than the buffet have regional representations of foods, which for the most part are okay. The Japanese restaurant Miyako seemed severely lacking in this area. However the many other options make up for it. Pools are well maintained , and water slides are only partially working. There did not seem to be life vest options for kids but tubing is available for purchase from the store at a premium price. As a property overall, room service and maintenance were well doneand prompt. The property

We like the room is spacious with large washroom, balcony. The staffs are nice and friendly. The buffet foods are good but less variety. However, there are 5 or more dinning restaurants you can enjoy any days without limit. The room services (order food, drinks etc.) are great. The check-in and checkout processes are fast and easy. Amstar transfer services are very good. There are lacks of tropical fruits such as mango, soursop, instead of apples which we have alot in Canada. Although, there is no sandy beach, but the view is beautiful. The swimming pools are good, and some pools are nice and private. Overall, this is a good resort to try out.

We enjoyed our stay for the most part. The hotel front desk staff were able to accomodate our family of 6 with connecting rooms for extra cost. The hotel staff were very nice and professional. The lifeguards were also very good. The rooms were spacious and very nice looking. There are 3 things we were disappointed with : 1. noise from the room above us : we could hear the people moving furnitures upstairs. 2. the last night there were tractor noises coming from the beach from about 0100AM until late morning. 3. lastly they brought the buffet dinner outside the facility twice during the week and unless you bought an expensive bottle of wine to reserve a table, the wait time was too long and we couldn't get a table. Therefore we had to go to one of the restaurant where there was also wait time. This was extremely frustrating for a family with children who were hungry and ended up waiting for over 1 hour to sit down.

The cleaner in the room didn't clean it well.Never wash the mirror ,nevar clean the tub,never tuch the floor in the toilet.Poor cleaning services,i can say terrible.But never forget to take the tip.Japanes restaurant the food was excellent,but our cook didnt make equal portion for everyone.Our kids get 5 peace meat and same veggies.It was disappointed.For 5 star property should more upgraded.They have the best and delicious food.

First of all, don't confuse this with the Hyatt Ziva Cancun, we've stayed at both, and they do not compare. The Riveria resort was very worn, dirty, and banquet/wedding focused. Three of the restaurants were closed the entire visit for private events with no prior notice, even at check-in. The food was fair, but each of the remaining restaurants were an ugly box with no theme, obviously set-up to convert to special events on short notice. Service was solid, and exceptional at times - very good service experience twice at steak restaurant. Pool water was cloudy most days with focus on pool events over comfort and relaxation of guests. It was disappointing to see so few guests tipping for soild or exceptional service. Management needs to recognize poor impressions with property condition, closed restaurants and cleanliness directly effects the strong staff in their wallet- at no fault of their own.

This was one of the worst experiences we've had at a vacation resort. There were multiple issues throughout our stay: Dining: The wait time at the restaurants was consistently between 1 to 1.5 hours, which is extremely challenging for families with young children. The buffet, while an alternative, had a very limited menu, making it hard to find something suitable for everyone. In-room dining was equally disappointing—3 out of 4 times, the app failed to process our order. Additionally, the vegetarian options were minimal to non-existent. Limited Access: Our group vacationed alongside another large group, and as a result, about half of the resort's amenities were inaccessible to the rest of the guests. We were unable to use the beach chairs, umbrellas, or access certain areas of the property. This wasn’t a temporary inconvenience—it lasted all five days of our stay. Despite raising these concerns, the staff made no effort to resolve or even acknowledge them. It felt very unprofessional, especially from a brand like Hyatt. We paid full price for the resort but received access to only a portion of it. Many other guests expressed similar frustrations. Unfortunately, this experience has made it clear that we won’t be returning to any Hyatt resort in the future.

Pros: Meticulously clean facilities and rooms. Delicious food. Pools were a lot of fun for kids and adults alike. Poor: 1. Food allergy safety: They would ask if anyone in the party had a food allergy (nut in our case) but then proceeded to do absolutely nothing about that information. This includes waiters with limited knowledge of food ingredients, menus without allergen information and MOST FRUSTRATINGLY baked goods with no names or allergen information. We tried several times to waive a waiter/front staff to help with ingredient lists but to no avail. Made the buffet a tempting minefield for one of our kids. 2. Beach - rocky, minimal sand, full of sea algae. Best if you think of this location as without beach access. 3. SERVICE. When you are able to flag a staff member and ask for something, it was done with a smile and efficiency. However, do not expect anyone to stop by and ask you to refill your coffee or check if the food was ok. At one lunch, we waited 15 minutes with not even a hello or water at our table. 4. Private events: The property had a week long private event where the 2/3 outdoor, beach/pool side restaurants were off limits to others. This is not particularly fair for an all inclusive establishment. Why not allow others to use one of the other outdoor places to eat? This could have been handled much better. For example - private events took one of the many small pools and that didn't cause any issues. Overall - 2.5-3/5.

I love the Hyatt chain. This is the first Hyatt chain I did not enjoy. First off there is really no beach. The pictures are deceiving. The service was horrible. The food was terrible. We were served raw steak, we asked for medium. Two of the restaurants were closed for a private event so you were able to enjoy. No updates were given to warn you the restaurants were closed. Definitely would not be returning to this location.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay as a family. Food and dining experiences were excellent. Like the majority of the rooms on the first floor we had a pool right outside our room. The little kids pool area was perfect and they have huge water slides for older kids. Nighttime entertainment was also good and the staff were friendly and helpful. Buy/bring your own water floats (the big donut shaped ones for the water slides if you want).

The primary complaint is the complete inaccessibility of main hotel amenities, which was not communicated prior to arrival or at check-in. This severely limited the our ability to utilize expected facilities and diminished the value of their stay. Further compounding the issue was the rude and inconsiderate behavior of the private event attendees towards other hotel guests. I was disappointed by the hotel staff's lack of intervention and support in addressing these interactions and the general inaccessibility of amenities, leading to a feeling that regular guests were disregarded. In addition to these major concerns related to several service failures: limited mocktail options (all had the same 3 drinks to choose) and unavailable snack items at all restaurants, consistently delayed room service orders, and excessive delays in receiving food orders at restaurants. These issues collectively resulted in a frustrating and disappointing experience that fell short of our expectations for a Hyatt hotel. I would definitely not recommend anyone .
