The staff were very warm and welcoming, whenever we had a request such as getting a tuck tuck or a taxi , laundry, prepared breakfast (we’re leaving before the cafe opened) they immediately fulfilled the request with a smile. It is a boutique hotel about is small, but very charming. The room was spacious and the air conditioning was on all day so when we returned the room was nice and cool. The only thing that we found as a problem was the water pressure in the shower, but it has been the same issue throughout the islands. It is a little distance from restaurants and the city center, but a tuck tuck is always nearby and it is very economical to get to different places.

Balai Princesa is an excellent, simple and small facility but short changed by a staff who were either new or incompetent - perhaps because we arrived at night with the night crew who did not explain much about the facility has to offer! The day crew however were excellent and knowledgeable!

Balai is stunning and clean, I stayed here as a way to unwind after a 2 week trip and it was absolutely the right decision. Balai gives a chance to unwind alone and everything is preplanned once you ask, for instance, the sauna and spa is booked an hour at a time so no one needs to share. The amenities offered in the rooms are excellent. The facilities are clean and nothing suggested is too much. The food options were good too. Highly recommend for a retreat type feel.
